    So i have been keeping my eye on a Gamertag for quite sometime but it never is active and doesnt have gold is there any way i can get that gamertag and if not will there be another reset on gamertags that arnt active anymore?

    Original gamertag is inaccessible & GLITCHED due to a inactive spaced version

    Inactive spaced gamertags should be removed and released. They are inactive, 100 percent inactive place holding gamertags.

    Do you think Microsoft will clear out old unused gamertags?

    They actually do this but its not live gamertags as much as Microsoft accounts goes inactive for x period they will purge it

    The only way to get the tag is if the owner changes it to something else or it will be freed up if they do not sign in for 5 years. Keep in mind that the tag system is used on other Microsoft services, so even if it's not being used on an Xbox, it may be

    How to submit a ticket for requesting an inactive account gamertag to be reset?

    How do you know it's inactive? Gamertags are used on several Microsoft services,not just Xbox live,so there is no way to know if a gamertag is inactive or not.

    Just because a gamertag has low gamerscore of hasn't logged into Xbox live for a certain amount of time does not mean it's inactive.

    The article is admittedly old, but it is from after they released inactive Gamertags the first time.
