Inactive Accounts should be deleted.

My Suggestion is that inactive accounts should be deleted after around 2 Years of being inactive as they are just taking up space and names that other people might want to use.

Opinions would be good ?

Answers folks cannot verify live IDs and any email information posted in that forum will be deleted. Only the Windows Live team can do that via phone support.

Of note:

Accounts become inactive if you don't sign in for more than 270 days
VIA WEB BROWSER. After an account becomes inactive, all messages, folders, and contacts are deleted. Incoming messages will be sent back to the sender as undeliverable.

Your account name is still reserved.

However, if the account stays inactive for an additional 90 days, the account name may be permanently deleted.

 

Original gamertag is inaccessible & GLITCHED due to a inactive spaced version

That is why im saying those spaced versions "place holders" should be deleted if they are 100percent inactive

 

They did delete a bunch of dormant gamertags in the past, and it ended poorly. Opportunistic people hoarded all of the highly demanded names, and sold them to unsuspecting users.

Why exactly are you so concerned with inactive accounts...????

 

He's not; he's concerned about those who would abuse the system.

Re-using gamertags? That seems silly to me. How about being original? I know it takes a little more work, but it IS possible to come up with something fresh.

The problem is usually with console switchers and it's not very satisfying to see the gamertag of your dreams being used by someone who doesn't put it to use.
