  1. Inability to play backwards compatible games.

    Hey Everyone,

So, I was part of the preview program and I could play the backwards compatible games at the time. Now for some reason, I'm not able to play any of the backwards compatible games. I have tested this with
Braid, Perfect Dark, Metal Slug 3, and even the DLC codes I received from the
MCC for Reach and the Fallout 3 code through Fallout 4.

Specifically, I can download the games, but when I go to load the game, it attempts to retrieve my gamertag and it proceeds to tell me it can't find my profile. And attempting to download the profile then says that I'm not connected to the internet (which
I was). I've attempted deleting all of my game data and reinstalling, but nothing is helping.

    Any help is appreciated.

    :)

playing original x box game bulletproof on 360

You need the following to play backward compatible games: The official xbox 360 hard drive and a backward compatible game. 50 Cent Bulletproof was never made backward compatible and updates to the emulator stopped several years ago so you're out of luck.

Play online with an Xbox One person using Xbox 360.

If you want to play a backwards compatible game with them that will work! Here's a list of the backward compatible games: Available games

  5. It's also important to note that I've completed the generic fixes to attempt a fix on this. Specifically, I've deleted/reinstalled games, cleared my system cache, and deleted and reinstalled my profile.

I'm hoping that I can get a response from an actual support rep through the forum, as I've never received a successful answer through other support sources.

  6. Hey there Howling Mad Doc!

Sorry to hear about the issue! If you haven't already, I suggest trying the following steps:

    • From the Home screen, scroll to the left and select Settings.
    • Select All Settings and then select System.
    • Select Storage and then select Clear local Xbox 360 storage.
    • Select yes and once your console restarts, try launching one of the affected games.
Give the suggested steps a try and be sure to let us know the results. Thanks in advance!

  7. Hello Mister Quimby,

I tried what you listed; unfortunately, I'm still getting the same issue. For your 4th step, my xbox didn't require me or have any pop screen that gave me an option to select anything after restarting.

I also deleted the games and reinstalled them and tried the steps again, but it is still not showing my profile upon entering an Xbox 360 compatible game.

Please let me know what to try next.

    Thanks.

    Hey Howling Mad Doc!

The next step I recommend trying is factory restoring your Xbox One console. To do so, follow the steps on our

    Reset Xbox One Console Support
page. I did want to note that this will uninstall all games and apps from your Xbox One, but as long as you're connected to Xbox Live, your saves should be backed up.

Additionally, if you're still an Xbox One Preview member, I suggest reporting this issue through the feedback app so the appropriate folks can have that data.

Let us know how that goes!

  9. Hello Mister Beep,

Unfortunately, that did not work either.

Just to clarify, I do not need to hook up my 360 to my xbox one correct? Would the fact that I had a different Gamertag back in the day be the cause of all of this?

I did submit the survey for backwards compatibility and have submitted a few error reports through the Preview app, but haven't heard anything from anyone.

    Thanks.

  10. no this would not be the cause (unless the dlc codes (360 games) where on the other gamertag and that gamertag isn't signed in and/or isn't home gold on your xbox one).

you can play single player games on 360 when using home gold and not being signed in with same account but you cannot play multiplayer as 360 did not have home gold and xbox one is emulating the 360 system.

last resort I would try is making sure system is up to date with latest system update and if it is call xbox support via phone and see if they can reset your profile through xbox live as a last resort (you still get your gamerescore and all just a fresh
clear from cache on xbox live side)

hope everything works out for you.

  11. Hey there, Howling Mad Doc! It definitely could be related to having another gamertag. If you still have access to that account, I would try downloading that again and seeing if you have access to those games once you make your console that gamertag's Home
    console, too.

We do not suggest contacting phone support to "reset your profile". We're not aware of phone or chat support having that ability. If you need to be referred to phone or chat support for anything, one of us Official Staff agents will be sure to point you
in that direction. Right now, you're in the best place that can help you.

I wanted to clarify one thing you had mentioned. While Halo: Reach is backward compatible, the MCC version of Reach is actually through the Halo 3 Campaign in MCC, not the same version that is backward compatible. You should be able to play that from within
MCC if you got the code from the Thank You Offer last year.

As for the other games, you can check if you own them on this profile by going to the
My Games page. Let us know if you see them there or not. Inability to play backwards compatible games. :)

  12. I may have misspoke when I referenced the change of my gamertag.

Specifically, my original GT was Doc Holiday K and I paid to change it to Kousei Kira, and then paid to change it to . Granted, this was over the course of several years. So, it was under another name, but it's the same profile that bought
    the games before.

In terms of Halo Reach, I couldn't take that off afterwards (I remembered after I posted that I need to enter the disc for the Halo:MCC).

I checked the "My Games" list and the games I mentioned do appear on the page. As an example, the Fallout 3 game came from my purchase of Fallout 4; but, even that copy I cannot play even though I didn't buy it through my 360. I just keep getting the same
issue that my profile doesn't appear when I go to start the game.

  13. Inability to play backwards compatible games.

    Hey there Howling Mad Doc!

Thank you for the explanation. A gamertag change should't be the problem, as you are able to see the Xbox 360 games listed in the page provided above. Just to clarify, when exactly did the issue start to occur? If possible, I recommend signing in to a different
Xbox One console and trying to play a backward compatible Xbox 360 game. This way we can narrow down the root of the issue. Thanks!

  15. Hello Mister Quimby,

So here's the most recent update. I did pull my profile up on another xbox one. It did work properly with backwards compatibility. I checked the 2nd Xbox, and it did not show as my home xbox (the one having issues is my home xbox). I was able to pull up
the game and have the information load properly through the first screen and then properly sign me into the xbox 360 game.

To troubleshoot, I removed my profile back from this console, went back home and cleared the system cache and game saves for that game (I was testing with Metal Slug 3). The game did the same thing, when it tried to pull my 360 info, the progress bar did
not move at all and it asked for me to download my gamertag. I also tried to change my console from a home console to a non-home console and back, neither of the options worked. I also did this with a redownloaded version of Metal Slug 3 and it still didn't
    populate the gamertag.

    Any thoughts? Thanks.
