Inability to merge account or transfer purchases

Just had a long chat with support over a problem I have and wondered if anyone had similar and found a solution (the chat tech told me he was unable to escalate the problem).

I have a main MS account that I use for most things including email, 365 and trialling Groove right now. I have another alias account I have used for Xbox live for maybe 10+ years. I really want to do one of the following:

1) Merge these two accounts, but I am told this is not possible due to some generic security reasons should one account get compromised.

2) Transfer my xbox purchases from the xbox account to the main account so I can ignore the alias one (its not big money, just a few games and DLC). Also unpossible!

Being unable to do either of these means I can't use services bought under my main account on the xbox (e.g. Groove in this case) so its hard to be as good a customer to Microsoft as I would normally be.

The workaround suggested was to make the home xbox the alias account and use the main account as a shar-ee so to speak. But then any purchases using the main account would not be available to the family and I'd be forever logging in to the alias account
to make purchases - its not a good solution basically.

Has anyone been able to get MS to do either of the above two options to help give them more money?

Unfortunately there is no way to transfer or merge accounts.

I'm sorry to say, it is not possible to merge 2 Microsoft accounts into one, nor is it possible to transfer items (games/DLC, achievements, etc.) between accounts. The option has never been there. You can go to Xbox Ideas, powered by UserVoice to suggest/vote
on having the ability of doing that. I'm sure there are a number of people out there who would like the option to consolidate accounts.

Otherwise the best recommendation is to start weaning your way down to using just one account for all purchases moving forward. Make sure both accounts have the console as it's home console or one has to be logged in on the console in order for others to
play any of the purchased games.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but I hope this helps.

Purchases, Achievements, and all profile specific purchases are non-transferable. In fact, all of your questions are answered in the link you posted. If your old account is working fine, use it. DLC and purchased items are non-transferable, and accounts
cannot be merged.

Accounts cannot be merged and no content is able to be transferred between different accounts. He will have to stick with one of the accounts and whatever purchases that account has.

You can't transfer or merge data or purchases with other accounts. You can only change the email associated with it.
