In urgent need of help!refused warranty!!! (situation is explained below.) please help guys.

Hello.

Well yesterday my xbox one started fizzing and sparkingroducing a horrible smell. Clearly nearly setting on fire if i didnt throw it outaide (i have young children), i am still under warranty but i phone the fire brigade who came and disposed of the item
safely. I told a xbox agent all this and they told me i would have to get my xbox back otherwise i wernt allowed a replacement as they want to repair it. They wanted me to keep the xbox which was a fire hazard itself, along with my children in the house which
of course i was not going to.risk! Can xbox refuse me a replacement because of this situation? I feel disgusted on how iv been treated, they didn't carw it was a fire hazard, fair enough it might not of but how.would they of felt if my house was set alight?
Anyways i want to know can they refuse me a replacement because of this?

Guys I'm in need of help . I recently deleted my Xbox account without removing my payment details & its withdrawing every month .

Is there a way I can stop this ?

Unfortunately, without the original console, they can't prove that you didn't sell it and are now trying to get one for free. It's standard practice to send the old console in to Microsoft when requesting repair/replacement under warranty.

 

So they dont have any back ups for these situations thrn? That is disgusting.

 

A lot of company's are like this, it protects the company and the customers. To be honest with you , I have three kids and if my console did that, after all the money I spent, I would put the thing outside somewhere safe, because Im pretty sure that once
its out, it will not catch on fire again with out a plugging it back into the wall. And then I would call, and if they want me to ship it back, I am going to ship it back. They need to see how it started so they can stop it from happening, and to tell you
something, I have had my console since Day One, never, any problems, ever. I think its the user to be honest with you. Its not disgusting for company's to protect themselves, it business!

 

UKCHEEEZA, funny enough I had this exact same problem with my Porsche! I had to junk it, phoned them up, but they wouldn't give me a free one to replace it. Totally bummed.

P.S. How was the Xbox a fire hazard when you could have just kept it unplugged? Was it going to spontaneously ignite itself?
