In light of recent attacks on the Xbox Live service..

I called xbox support today. They told me that its on may end that I can't connect to xbox live. Paying for nuthin.

Been happening to me for a week now. Bs. Christmas,PS4 here I come. I buy before blu-ray movies off xbox video and half of the 20 sum odd movies I purchased are not even showing up. I'm goin bac to playstation. Never had this problem. I hated I broke
my ps3 to suffer like this in gaming ponzi.

Honestly think it through. Is anybody really surprised. Think big picture of Microsoft as a company. Going back to Windows 95 they started to write insecure code and total bloatware. They were convicted by the US govt over Internet Explorer remember?

Think of the hundreds of security updates for whatever operating system you own. MS writes lousy, bloatware, and insecure code. This is not opinion, it is proven fact.

Why would the 360 be any different? Its all MS. They want control, and they want a monopoly on the world. That is nothing new. It has even gotten to the point that I can't even update my GPS, because MS won't let Garmin write Windows XP code for map
updates unless I upgrade from XP Pro to Windows 8.

They want to control every single PC in the world and more. They have no concern for their customers. Again, look at past history and you have your answers. Software written with as many security holes would never have been allowed out of the lab 25 years
ago. The 360 network is still MS software.

Why did I just have to download well over 100meg update just to do something to game chat? REALLY? There is no reason for a tiny component like that to take over 100 megs of my very limited monthly throughput allowance. And God forbid they actually let
you know how big the update is before you download it! If the operating system was written such that it has to be completely replaced to make and update, it was wirtten WRONG.

It is like anything else in the world, when the company won't listen to the customers, the only option is to hurt them in the pocket book (hint, hint), then they listen for a very short period of time.

Signing up for, or purchasing anything from MS implies you are accepting their bloatware and insecure software, and their ways of treating the rest of the world with contempt.

 

Im in the same boat as everyone else. No xbox live. Paid a year subscription and this month I haven't been able to get on. Its bad enough we have to pay to get on the network. But to lose money for something you cant use sucks even worse. They need to reimburse
the gamers or they will go elsewhere. Im going to check out playstation. They at least got their *** straight and you don't have to pay to use the server. Definitely a big plus. Microsoft is making a killing off us and they cant afford to fend off hackers
to protect us? Not very confident in Microsoft anymore. They are definitely not the king of kings.

 

PSN is NOT free and has been hacked so many times, I've lost count. Even had credit card info released. [tag:IgnoranceIsBliss]

 

yup probably getting the ps4 now. this is the second night in a week. idc what you xbox zombies think but microsoft created computers and im on one right now. using my internet. so whats the excuse?

 

So, Live has been down for what seems like a couple hours now... Will there be any indication about when the service is up and running? Or will I just have to keep turning my 360 on and off and refreshing until it finally sticks?

luckily I can still view hulu and netflix through my Mac, but this is still incredibly frustrating... I don't even know whether my information is safe enough to remain with MS at the moment...

Many considering PC gaming , pay 50 for game and able to play w/out membership I myself was many that didnt buy the xbox or ps consoles for this constant d/c as today happens daily. Going to town maybe i see my fav games for PC, change back

I'm just glad it's not just me. I may have not been a month but I've have about about 2 weeks of total down time. that's just the time I wasn't able to sign in. i don't include time when power or internet outages occur. I'm starting to get scared for my
credit information. I'v had my ID stolen twice and has taken me 7 years to get my credit score back to where it should be

 

DDoS attacks have never been stopped by competent professionals before...

 

Has anyone had this issue with Xbox live resolved yet today because when I still try to connect it keeps on telling me if this problem persists go to Xbox.com?
