The SSID is not dependant on the devices you connect to your network. The "visibility" of your SSID is configured on your router.

But please: Do NOT think that a "hidden" SSID is a security feature.

Think of the SSID like the way to a party at your house. You can simply put a sign up front your house telling people passing by your house that there is the party. This would be the case of a visible SSID.

If you "hide" your SSID, this would compare to this party situation: Guests will run around your house yelling "IS THIS THE PARTY HOUSE?" and you would then open the window, and scream to the top of your lungs "YES! THIS HERE IS THE PARTY HOUSE!". But not
only would new guests scream for information where the party would be. Guests that ARE already on the party would open a window every few seconds, and scream "IS THIS STILL THE HOUSE WITH THE PARTY?", and you would then open another window to scream back "YES
THIS IS STILL THE HOUSE WHERE THE PARTY IS!".

So don't make the mistake of hiding your SSID.

People that want to look for WLANs still detect the WLAN being broadcast, and just need to wait until a device asks "I WANT TO CONTACT THE WLAN WITH THE SSID "SECRET HIDDEN SSID", CAN I?" and the person "listening" outside your network will
then have the SSID, despite your SSID being "hidden".

Of course, the attacker would still need to crack the encryption to get valuable data, but the "call" for the hidden SSID is unencrypted, and therefore always readable.
