In Game Pause

i paused my in game progess, and shut the xone off for the night (in instant mode). Will this harm the game disc or xbox? Will I be able to pickup my game play tomorrow where I paused it?

why no pause on co-op survival?

they cant pause in a coop game you can only pause in single player game

 

Game installation pause delay

When downloading/installing games, if I try to pause an installation, there is always a long delay before the console responds. It doesn't freeze up or anything, and I can and usually do attempt several times to pause the installation (I don't think this
has any effect, but I do it anyway). Installations will eventually pause, but the delay is very noticeable (up to a minute or maybe longer) and somewhat frustrating; especially when I have several items queued and the xbox randomly stops a half complete download
and starts on a different one (necessitating pausing all queued downloads). Has anyone else experienced this issue?

 

It should resume and should not hurt the disc. The game is installed on your hard drive so no strain is being put on the disc

 

No it wont hurt anything. The instant resume feature is great but does work better with some games than others. Nothing better than just picking up the controller and gaming from where you were stood/crouched/hiding the night before!

 

This is still quite possibly the thing I love most about my xbox one...

 

Yep me too, and people still say the 360 is quicker! LOL!!!!

 

So you want to know if a using a feature that was specifically designed to be used, will hurt the console it was designed for? No, you should be fine.

Quick question, I'm thinking about pressing the power button on my Xbox so I can play some games. It's not going explode and burn my house down, is it?

 

^if you press it and hold it for 2O seconds while holding a zippo to the corner of your carpet then the answer is yes (maybe not the explode bit)

 

One thing to note is not all games get on well with this practice, I had issues with Sunset Overdrive so make sure your game is saved before putting it in low power mode to be on the safe side.

 

I love that feature but with dragon age I don't like that the playtime clock kept running even when my machine was off
