Impossible to use live with WPA2-AES?

So, I'm entirely new to Xbox - I just got a 360 2 days ago - and I tried to set up 'Xbox Live' but it kept saying 'wrong WiFi password' (it was the correct password). So, I looked it up and found out that Live isn't compatible with 'WPA2-AES'. I have no
idea what 'WPA2-AES' is but I'm assuming that's what my internet is.

Anyway, is there any way for me to use Xbox Live or is it impossible with 'WPA2-AES'? Thank you! <3

Do you have the ability to use WPA2 instead of WEP? It's going to provide better security and it should connect with LIVE perfectly.

dont use wpa2 , use wpa, because xbox dont work with wpa 2

 

thats the security protocol for your wifi network - you would need to log in to your router and change it from wpa2-aes to another protocol

 

Is using a wired connection possible? That should sort you out I think.

wired connection will work without issue, its the wifi protocol XBL doesn't like

 

Damn fine advice from Ibakez, but if your not techie (im not) and have no idea how to log in and change router settings (I wouldnt) use the wired connection if your 360 is close enough! If your techie follow Ibakez advice!

 

I would have thought you could sort out your WiFi security issue. Try swapping to/from uppercase letters? WPA2 support was added in 2009, so I don't think that's your problem.

But a wired connection is always best if you can do it. Power line adapters (also called Homeplugs) are a great solution if your router is in another room. You can get a pair of 200mbps plugs for way under £20 these day and will give you a much better connection
than WiFi.
