Importing on the xbox live marketplace

Hi,

I have a question regarding the microsoft policy. Did contact support twice, but they cannot give me an answer (usually they seem to misunderstand or misread the question, or they say they do not know).

I live in the Netherlands at the moment and I imported my xbox one, like many other dutch people have. Because there is no dutch marketplace I cannot buy any marketplace content (I set the console region to UK to be able to play). Many dutch people i know
have solved this issue by giving a false UK or US billing address when the xbox one prompts for a location, then they can use their dutch paypal account or foreign prepaid cards to pay, since their origins do not need to match the billing address region.

Now their logic is that as long as everything is payed Microsoft or xbox will not make a problem out of it. I however would like to verify if this really is the case or if there are very strict microsoft policies and or actions against this. (like account
banning). Although of course it has to be said that billing info can be altered at any given time.

Can anyone here clarify for me if it is safe to give a false UK or US billing address in order to be able to pay for marketplace content?

I'd just like to point out that accessing the marketplace for a region or country you do not live in could be interpreted as Marketplace fraud.

On top of Microsoft's possible issue with it you're also dealing with the serious legalities of money-laundering, evasion of taxes, and illegal importing.

Do not set your account region to a place where you do not live.

 

Imported Xbox One Xbox Live Account Questions

I'm importing a console to norway because I didn't want to wait. My questions are, will I be able to go back and forth with my account on the 360 and xbox one without any problems (since there are still games I want to play that only comes on 360)?

Will I be able to use my gold membership on both?

And can I buy Norwegian Xbox Live Gold and Money cards (or like gamestop does it where u get the code on the receipt) to buy things on the Xbox Live Marketplace until they open the Norwegian Xbox Live store?

 

I am yet to try paid digital downloads myself (I live in Poland, console's region set to US) but according to discussion on NeoGAF there shouldn't be a problem. Check out this link

Some people in my country use fake credit card addresses but I don't know if that's totally safe in the long term. Also, it's hard to confirm that document from the link is 100% legit.

 

No it is unlikely you will get banned however like xbox 360 games even though the disk games aren't region locked the dlc and marketplace games tend to be since international laws haven't changed

@Beechbone666: thank you for the link, however in that document there's also clearly stated that a valid billing address is needed. I'm guessing a billing address isn't valid if I just look up a random address on the internet and put it in. Guess the only
valid way is to rent a postal box but that's too much effort IMO
