    Impersonation of gamer tag and name


    After a conversation with Xbox support I was advised to post for some help / support. My son has an account Druce007 that he has used for several years, one of his old friends has created a gamer tag almost the same with and extra "0" with the same photo
    and has also used his name. I am very unhappy with the situation, and the upset caused, also the use of my sons name is in view. My son has ask him to change this without success.

    Can someone please help or advise?

    My son has the user name Druce007, the person impersonating his is using Druce0007

    There isn't much you can do about the name being close. Trust me here, there are MANY versions of OUTSIDER on LIVE. As far as using your sons name, your best bet is to file a complaint using the tools on your xbox. This is the only way to file a complaint.

    Thanks for the advice my son has chosen to change his gamer tag, which is a little frustrating but resolves the problem.

    Not even Microsoft employees have the tick after their tag/name but you are correct in that anyone who does put a tick after their gamertag/name is violating the ToU/CoC & will get banned for staff impersonation.

    Yes...I get that image...and have tried that. But, it is not letting me change my gamer name to my old name....

    I appreciate all your help...but, I think part of the problem is with the set up that Best Buy did.....

    I think I will just wait a few days...give my brain a rest.....and try again...
