"Immersive" Xbox One TV Mode

So after thoroughly enjoying my Xbox One, I decided I would purchase an Xbox Remote. However, unlike the Xbox 360 remote, you cannot (to my knowledge) "program" the remote to your TV, you must set your Xbox One up to control your TV.

So I purchased an infrared transmitter off of Amazon and went at it. WooHoo! Now my Xbox One turns my TV on and off (hey, I'm late to the party here). Volume, mute, they all work!

I decided to hook my Apple TV up to the Xbox via HDMI and then run one of my infrared transmitters to the Apple TV. I was disappointed here. I had such high hopes, but had such high disappointment. Of course I can do things like "Play/Pause" the Apple TV,
but when it actually comes to selecting content (up/down/left/right/select), I have to use the Xbox Smartglass app on my phone. They whole point of me purchasing the remote was so that I would not have to use my phone!

What I propose is a "mode" (can be turned on or off if you wish) by which when I hit the "TV" app on my home-screen, it takes me to my Apple TV input, and then all buttons on the Xbox One Media Remote are directly passed to the Apple TV. The Xbox One Media
Remote has an up/down/left/right/select and back button, the Apple TV would need nothing more. All of these buttons, in the "immersed" mode for the Xbox One would directly be used to select content on the Apple TV. in order to get back to the "Xbox One Home-Screen",
I would have to hit the Xbox Button at the top of the Xbox One Media Remote. Otherwise, it would be 100% like using the native Apple TV remote with the Apple TV but instead using the Xbox One Media Remote to hit the Xbox, the Xbox sending the codes to the
Apple TV via IR.

Of course the volume control buttons would be passed to the TV/Audio Reciever

This is 100% possible. Since I can essentially "do it" with the Smartglass App, I feel it would be a small update to allow this functionality. I understand that some cable "boxes" would be more complex and take advantage of the Smartglass App, but there
is not a reason in the world the Xbox One Media Remote could not be used to entirely control the Apple TV.

There are normally modes for Film, TV, and Sports. Use the appropriate mode. If you don't like what the processing does, set the TV to Game mode.
