I'm unable to receive nor mark messages as read

I've had this problem for a few days where if someone sends me a message I'm unable to view, and if it does come through I'm unable to mark it as read so it forever stays a notification, I was waiting to talk to someone for 5 hours with no luck, any help
would be appreciated thanmd

Try performing a hard reset by pressing the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts off completely. Then unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes.

There has been alot of people this week talking about having problems with messages. Mostly not being able to send or receive them. The problem should clear up this weekend.

Had that for more than a few weeks on the Xbox Beta app as well as the console. For my console, I just went back into notifications and it disappeared (huzzah). For the Beta app, it's been on-off. Going into a notification or two, clicking refresh, clearing
cache... It hasn't been as prevalent a problem now, because it's behaving itself.

I have had that happen, and usually it fixes itself within a day or two. I just assume its part of the extra server load lately.

Still having the issue. I'm going to go ahead and assume this is a problem with the latest update. I can't even mark messages as read.
