Try the following steps, and in given order and let us know how that goes.

Run a diagnostic test to Xbox LIVE (Test Xbox LIVE Connection) and let us know if your console fails to connect to LIVE and if so, where it fails to connect.

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and then select System Settings.
   
2. Select Network Settings.
3. Select Wired Network if you are prompted to do so.
4. Select the Additional Settings tab.
5. Select Restore to Factory defaults.

Clear Xbox system cache

This will only delete temporary files and data from the Xbox system cache.

1. Press the Guide button on your controller, go to Settings, and select System Settings.
   
2. Select Storage or Memory.
3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.
4. Select Clear System Cache.
5. Important: Clear your Xbox system cache 3 times in row.

Restart your console.

Download Xbox LIVE profile.

1. Press the Xbox Guide button on your controller (large X button in the center of your controller).
   
2. Select Download Profile.
3. Enter the Microsoft account associated with your Xbox LIVE gamertag.
4. Enter your Microsoft account password.

Exact same issue i either get black screen ir the menu doesnt work which wont let me sign in.

ya seems like somethings messed i keep getting signed out when ever i launch BF3 im asuming theres a title update for the game but it doesnt prompt me to download anything.. & it wont let me sign back in
