im trying to recover an old gamertag i used 10 years ago.

My current gamertag is 'geeFy 504', im trying to go back to plain ole 'geeFy'. I just got off the phone with xbox live support, and she directed me here b/c she couldnt help me. The gamertag comes up as reserved, although it hasnt been used in over a decade.
The XLS did say it was a little odd that a gamertag inactive this long was still reserved or unattainable. 'geeFy' was on a different email account, which i have recovered as well.

Help Recovering an Antique Gamertag

I'm trying to recover my Xbox live gamertag from the Xbox live beta period (so it's about 10 years old).. Because its such an old account, it isn't linked to a windows live email and if it were, its probably disabled. I called customer service and they said
I couldn't recover it without the original credit card used and referred me to asking here.

I tried to log onto my original xbox to change the email but xbox live wasn't working on it.

Does anyone know how I could recover my ancient gamertag?

my xbox was stolen recently and i am trying to recover my gamertag for my new console but because i had the xbox for so long the email i used to set up my gamertag years ago doesnt work any more (not sure why), is there some way for me to recover my profile
still or do i just need to cut my losses and make a new one?

any help is appreciated

If you don't have another account with that name, there is a chance that someone else is using that gamertag.
