I'm sorry you are experiencing this with your Microsoft Xbox account.

"Microsoft will send you a code to the security verification methods that you selected when creating the account in order to access the security data on your Microsoft account. This is to make sure you (the owner) are attempting to access the account.

The code will be sent to the email address or Phone number you supplied as a security verification method. If you no longer have access to your Old Phone number, it is recommended to change the security info in your account.

On the Verify your Identity screen, select "I don't have any of these", and follow the instructions to replace your security info. If you do, your account will be put into restricted state for 30 days.

There are still things you may be able to do with your account, but in most cases, you won't be able to access any Microsoft site that asks for this security verification info.
It is always good practice to add multiple verification methods to your account. Even if one method fails, you can request the security code to an alternate phone number to verify it's you.

Yes I tried the account recovery form too. I get an email to my alternate address saying the info provided was correct and sufficent. "Your account is verified and now you just need to reset your password".

So I reset the password and Im back to where I started, unable to login as the account (email address) is blocked.

Frustrating doesnt even begin to describe this scenario!

I want to add an alias to my account but I cannot because I have a this warning: "For security reasons, you need to verify your primary alias before you can add another alias." How can I add an alias if I cannot verify my primary address? I no longer have
access to my primary email address as it no longer exists.
