HelloXboxx, I wanted to just calrify a little in regards to the "censorship" part a little. First, all Platforms even Steam (note not PC as a generic term keep in mind is Hardware not a Platform) will moderate Content and use
controls of censorship. There is no place in Gaming at the current time in the Western Culture or World (or even most of Asia) that it is simply "anything goes".

Developers and even Moders are held to a certain threshold for Content and just using Adult Rating by the ESRB is typically a no go for even Moders if they wish to get their Mod Distributed on Platforms.

But just be careful with this concept. This does not apply to Users. All Users are held to the Terms of Use and Code of Conduct. Posting Content that violates the ToU and CoC is the fastest way to Ban-town on XBL for a User.

if you have to convince yourself, and these minor concerns are more important than just playing a game that look fun, then don't buy one.

    and replaceable batteries is way better than being stuck with a controller that has be charged every few hours, good job to Sony for setting the battery life bar so high >_>;

if you enjoy pc gaming as much as console i would not get a xbox one. i love console more but heres the problem. I got the xbox one 2014 and have 6 controllers for it now all but 1 has loose joy sticks or joy stick dragging. I thought i would get the elite
controller few months ago and what a wicked controller it is but...just this pasted couple of weeks the joy sticks are getting loose and also the left one sticks sometimes. Im in Canada so the controller was 189.99 now for that much money you would think they
could make a good controller and fix a known issue. I also pc game and im still on the same razor naga mouse from 4 years ago also the mouse drops on the floor all the time and yet still no issues. So all i say xbox i love but you in for a extra money along
the way on controllers that they can't make.

My Day 1 XBox ONE controller developed a drift.

My wife's XBox ONE controller bought at the same time developed a D-Pad fault.

My Elite controller which was a gift (because you'd be crazy to spend that much money on a controler) had the "LB" button simply fall out. Thanks to UK Consumer laws the retailer who sold me this replaced it on the spot.

I don't abuse my controllers. You're not allowed to look at them if you're eating.

It would be unfair to say that all XBox ONE controllers are going to break.

However the amount of people who have come to these Forums with controller issues, there definately seems to be a higher failure rate than you would expect for what is supposed to be a high end product.

I have the Xbox 1 day 1 console with Kinect, and the controller to that is still working fine. I have over 20 Xbox 1 games, but granted I still play a lot more on Xbox 360.

Regarding the Elite controller, yes it's expensive. And customers should be getting better performance out of it if they're not. Under Australian and New Zealand consumer protection legislation, people over here will get a minimum 12 months warranty. Yes
Microsoft provides only what 90 days warranty, but our legal rights over here say otherwise.

I would just say look at the games. Is there an Xbox One exclusive that you really want to play. One that won't be a Play Anywhere title. If you can't find one, then your path is clear. Don't buy the console.

If you can find a game, and hopefully more, then I would certainly look into buying a Xbox One. The original versions of the console are getting some crazy deals at the moment thanks to the new Slim model's release.

Not quite sure if Zoo Tycoon and Screamride have Xbox Play Anywhere. They're Xbox exclusives from Frontier. Zoo Tycoon (not to be confused with PC similar titles), the 2013 version which Frontier made specifically for Xbox, also has Kinect features too which
lets you play some parts of the game with your Kinect which is fun. Halo and Forza have also been pro-Xbox in my opinion too. Minecraft came out on Xbox 360 way earlier than when it came out on PS3. Microsoft also acquired Minecraft too, for like two point
something billion dollars. They acquired Skype too. And all the social features from Xbox 360 and Xbox 1, it's why I have an interest in the Xbox platform. PS3 didn't have anything as good as Xbox 360's party chat feature. Where you can party chat with up
to 8 people and do completely different things on your Xbox while remaining in chat. And avatars. And Kinect.

@HelloXboxx: "Mods are most likely going to be a big part consoles going forward. I could be wrong, but that's doubtful. They've been a pivotal point to games my entire life on PC, and now that consoles are getting a little better, and can start handling
them, people are going to start demanding them. Especially since people seem to be steadily growing more attracted to PC gaming."

Since the OP has evidently left the building, and we're all just piling on for the sake of comment, I thought I'd respond to this sentiment raised by the OP, as it has *no* bearing on MY life as a console gamer.

Prior to Bethesda announcing mod support for their current-gen titles, I can't particularly recall a time where gamers of *any* console persuasion were calling out for them. I may be biased towards consoles (as indeed you seem to be towards PC), but in my
term of 23 years and counting - playing EXCLUSIVELY on console - I can't say that I've ever lamented the loss of User Generated Content. In fact, given the high production values attendant to 'triple-A' titles, I'd even argue they would take away from the
    creators' vision.

It's evident, since you haven't replied back to take on board what others have said, that you've made up your mind (or left the building). That's your choice. But to suggest we're missing out on something or that "people seem to be steadily growing more
attracted to PC gaming" when in fact you've just enquired after the benefits of adding another console to your family tree makes literally NO SENSE.

I'm people. But going forward, the only thing I'm steadily attracted to is: More Xbox. More ease of use. More tailor-made experiences that cater to *me* - not the modding community.

Hey, @BluSwirl. As I mentioned, mods on consoles have no real use to me, personally, because they'll interfere with trophies, and since I usually don't touch games after I clear them, they'll never come into play. My point above was really just about principle
-- the general mindset of the company. Honestly, I don't really know how to describe it any differently. Basically, mods are user-created content, and they're supposed to be "anything goes." When a company basically states they're not even allowing users to
actually create any new items, only mess around with items already in the game, all just because they want to ensure no content that may be inappropriate for children may make its way into the game, is a big turn off for me. If you don't play on PC, this is
all pretty much meaningless to you, I guess.

Bethesda may be the only company currently offering mods, but don't let that fool you into thinking it's not an important issue. Mods are most likely going to be a big part consoles going forward. I could be wrong, but that's doubtful. They've been a pivotal
point to games my entire life on PC, and now that consoles are getting a little better, and can start handling them, people are going to start demanding them. Especially since people seem to be steadily growing more attracted to PC gaming.

Buying an Xbox One this late in the game is foolish IMO. You've waited this long so... wait for a Scorpio.

HelloXboxx, in regards to your primary concern - re censoring mods on Xbox - I think you're overestimating the importance of mods, as thus far only Bethesda has announced support for them (ie, Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition). However, since mod support
has also been confirmed for PS4, I can't see how you'd benefit from choosing one platform over the other - especially as the majority of mods would be 'family friendly' anyway.

I could be wrong, as I've yet to register my Xbox One for any of Bethesda's mods, and even if I did, it then disallows achievements and creates a separate save folder.

In regards to Q2, there are pros and cons regarding the screenshot and/or community profile function. Yes, you're paying for storage in the cloud, but the downside is there no local storage for photos or game clips (although you can upload files to OneDrive,
and these can be accessed from your PC, afaik). Unlike most conventional users, I've shunned the PC way of life and have managed quite comfortably with a succession of net-enabled consoles, dating back to Sega Dreamcast (c. 1999).

Additionally, a major advantage for Xbox Live subscribers is that community content can be easily shared thanks to the cloud, and user profiles can be brought up almost instantaneously - enabling a person's achievements to be validated and/or compared with
your own. I wouldn't worry about any discrepancy in gamerscore; if you're committed to a game then your high-level achievements can speak for themselves. There's also a new update incoming which adds RARE achievements to further distinguish you from casual
    players.

In regards to User Interface: Even though there are four discrete tabs for navigation, I pretty much don't stray from the homepage, as all of my favorite apps can be pinned here. It's a very clean and efficient service, which continues to get better. I hope
I've addressed some of your concerns. If not, then I'm sure some more tech-savvy folks can chime in. ;)
