    ive got a code which I put on my Xbox for a 12 month gold membership but when I tried to go onto Pro Clubs on Fifa 17, I couldn't get on as apparently on a silver membership. Wondering how I can change it so I can play with friends??

    i got a xbox live gold membership gift card and i already subscribed to xbox gold- can i use the gift card for other games or is it only for the gold membership?

    Do you need Xbox Live to play Minecraft?

    Yep. Silver is free. All you do is sign up with Xbox Live (either from your console or Xbox.com) fill in your details, gamertag etc. And then you are automatically Silver.

    Gold memberships add online play, certain demos that are only available to Gold subscribers, and that's really it. If you want to play Minecraft with people online, then you need Gold, but if you want to play it by yourself or split-screen with somebody next to you, you can also do that on Silver.

    That only indicates how long you have had Gold Membership on your Xbox LIVE profile, not just having a free/silver membership.

    Most likely you are trying to play a multiplayer game. All multiplayer games require a Gold Membership and unfortunately until you get a Gold Membership multiplayer is not an option for you. Single player games will work just fine, however to play any multiplayer
    game and to maximize your XBOX Live experience a Gold Membership is the best way to go....There are so many perks that a Gold member has access to that a Silver member does not.....but that does not mean that a Silver member cannot have as much fun as a Gold
    member.......it is just limited for the Silver subscriber......Happy Gaming!!!!!

    if you did it correctly you should have gotten the free 30 day gold trial if not then your silver

    - Sign up for Xbox Live Silver.

    - Choose Xbox Live Silver Membership for $0.00 even if you like to have Xbox Live Gold.

    - It will ask you if you are sure you want to continue with only the Silver Membership.

    - Choose the "Keep Silver" option to continue with the set-up.

    - Then it will inform you that you are now eligible for a free 30 day Xbox Live Gold Membership.

    - Enjoy the free trial and make sure to keep the upgraded Gamertag account.
