Console bans are either 30 days or permanent & are not issued lightly.

As it's a console ban you can not file for a case review.

You are responsible for your account & everything that happens on it.

Depends on how you play it, Its easy for me (But don't take that as I don't die because I do) I'm on my 2nd playthough and about to beat it in about 2 weeks but it usually hard for other people, there are still people stuck on the earlier bosses

Personally, I still have the OG xbox one and am not going to upgrade. I also don't have a 4k tv, and i'm content with how my games play. I would say upgrade, if you suffer sleepless nights thinking about how you wish you had the X.

As for "old school," my lineage just goes back to the NES, not prior. We had an Atari 5200 before the NES but I was too young to make use of it. I did hook it up years later and play some Qix, which was my favorite of the games we owned for it.
