I'm selling my Xbox 360 on craigslist and I have a question regarding my downloaded games (especially Games with Gold that I've downloaded). Okay, If I sell my Xbox 360 and the new owner brings it home and creates their own Xbox Live Gold account, will
they still be able to play any of the downloaded games on the hard drive? Or are the games restricted to my Xbox Live Gold account only? Please let me know because I won't be able to post which games are available in my ad if I don't know how this will work.

No you cannot sell any device with personal info on it

And yes it is linked to your account

You never ever sell a device with content on it

It is asking for trouble

You cant sell digital games. Format your hard drive and sell/advertise the console with no digital games.

If your profile, and licenses are still on the console then yes, he'll have access to those games if he creates a separate profile on that console. If you transfer licenses from the console though, even if your profile was still present, then the new owner
wouldn't be able to access the games on anything but your profile on that console

Safest bet is to just sell the console with whatever physical games you own, and write whatever digital games are attached to your profile off. Also the
Terms of Use states, "You must not: Assign, resell, or redistribute any part of the Services or access to the Services, including the sale or purchase of an account"

I think that obviously encompasses the sale of profiles and anything (games, themes, content) attached to them. =)

The profile for future consoles will remember what you have downloaded In case you re invest in a 360 meaning you will lose nowt as the profile owner.

If you format the hard drive via Settings - System - Storage - highlight hard drive and press Y. This will delete everything on that is currently present on the hard drive.

Be aware that a Family pass code will not be reset via these steps, in order to reset that you will need to contact Xbox Support.

But this will remove all the details from the console, and future owners will not be able to access your account or play games that were previously installed.

Thanks for coming to the forums. If you intend to keep the HD, then the next owner will not have access to the games. All this data is tied to your profile. But as on the Xbox 360, if you did not have cloud save enabled you will need the HD for all save
data. You own the games no question, as digital purchases of games tied to profile and disc are disc games. The save data is stored on the 360 HD unless like stated you enabled cloud saves. On the Xbox one, S, and X all data is automatically saved to the cloud.

So in short if you remove the hard drive, then delete any of your information of the internal storage. The next owner will not be able to access anything of yours.

You can play Xbox 360 games that is part of the current backward compatible library on any of the Xbox One family of devices.

As digital games is linked to the account not the console.

Keep in mind that sharing your account information with anyone goes against the Code of Conduct and you risk having the account banned.
