    Im on my third faulty chat adapter cable 3.5mm - 2.5mm and 3rd party adapters don't work


    I have my xbox one controller connected to a chat adapter with the 3.5mm - 2.5mm cable plugged in, this is the connected to my steel series h wireless headset. My friends reported a buzzing sound when i was in party chat with them so i investigated this
    further.

    I set up a Skype call to my laptop and could hear the buzzing sound myself through the laptop, i tried using a different controller and the buzzing persisted,

    i used a pair of iPhone headphones plugged directly into the chat adapter and the buzzing stopped

    I bought two 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapters which i swapped with the one i got when i purchased the xbox one chat adapter and bingo the buzzing stopped.

    However when using the different adapters these work fine using Skype but when i use party chat any sound i make does not register.

    I am now on my third chat adapter as i returned 2 to the store i purchased them from and my warrenty has now expired, why should i have to buy another chat adapter just for the cable? I feel robbed by Microsoft as a consumer as they have been very smart
    in not letting any third party cables work with their products making customers have to spend lots of money renewing accessories for xbox one. Additionally i had to return my day one console which had a faulty disk drive not to mention countless headsets for
    xbox 360 and plug and charge cables for xbox 360. I am one more faulty accessory away from moving to playstation which is a tremendous shame as i have spent a huge amount of money on the xbox brand. All i want is a new cable.

    Will xp500s work with Xbox one now?

    The turtle beach is 2.5mm and so are both ends of the talkback cable, the adapter is 3.5mm but it comes with a 3.5mm to a 2.5mm adapter cable.

    Should work fine with the adapter as long as you have a talkback cable, available for £9 in most shops.

    I know mine work perfectly with it.

    Does anyone know if the xbox 360 official chat headset would work on xbox one with a third party 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter.

    The problem isn't a defective chat adapter. The problem is with Microsoft *** up it's function when they released their June update. Sadly if this problem isn't fixed, I'll never buy an Xbox One which I was thinking about getting this winter.

    Xbox One Stereo Headset Adapter Issue

    Sounds identical to the issue I have been experiencing. What I hear: Quiet game and party chat members, with some annoying distorted static < that happens when I twist the 2.5mm to 3.5mm cable to try and get it to work correctly.

    What game and party chat members hear: As we know, they're own voice echoing along with the distorted static sounds of twisting the adapter's cable.

    I actually purchased a new cable for the adapter (3rd party) and everything is working fine now. This means it's definitely the cable.

    Have you or have you heard of anyone contacting Microsoft to get their stance on this issue with the 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter cable?

    HELP! - Xbox One Headset Adapter

    Getting similar issues with GameCom 777 series. Two 3.5mm jacks connected to a splitter then connected the headset adapter. The splitter is a OMTP - CTIA. Game and chat audio worked fine but my friends couldn't hear my voice. I found out that we have to
    use the 3.5mm - 2.5mm cable supplied with the headset adapter. I've now ordered a 2.5mm male - 3.5mm female adapter. Going to give that a try, hopefully it works. I will end up with a lot of cable/adapters but oh well.

    Has anyone found another possible solution?
