    Hi! So basically, try to bare with me as this is a long story.

    When I first purchased my Xbox One in April, everything was perfect. I couldn't ask for anything more but sadly, due to a turn of events I had to sell my Xbox One as I needed money at the time. Now ... that didn't bother me, I was able to go without one
    for a few months and decided to purchase another one in September 2014, this is when everything changed. It was making a HUGE screeching noise, I mean, this was beyond bad and I decided to return it back to the same shop and they agreed and issued me with
    a new one, we were basically then back and forth between another four Xbox's that had the same coil whine noise / loud fans.

    I then decided enough is enough and cut all ties with that shop,. I then moved to another and heard that only the Kinectless Xbox One's were affected with the coil whine issue and paid the full £400 for the Kinect model and yet again ... the same issues.
    I eventually tried one more shop and it was the same all round, this was from September 2014 - November 2014.

    I do love Microsoft, I really do, I wouldn't really ever consider getting a PS4 as I've been with Microsoft for at least 8 years now. I didn't buy another new Xbox until my birthday ( 6 days ago ) and what do you know .... the problem is still there. Whether
    this is because I got it on offer for £250 as it was the old X-Men Blu Ray bundle I don't know, whether new consoles now getting created have changed I also don't know but I could do with some major help, yes, I've tried the generic power reset, I have tried
    EVERYTHING.

    So now I've come to the forums to ask something, is it worth sending it to Microsoft? Can they actually fix the coil whine and fan issue and is it worth the wait or, should I return it to the store and look around for a pre owned one? Clearly something has
    changed from the early 2014 models to the late 2014 models.

    Even with being on my 10th Xbox One, I really do want to find a quiet functional one again. With the current one, I will never watch a movie/tv, NEVER, the noise is noticeable. The coil whine issue is super loud on the dashboard but stops when I start up
    a game, can anyone help me? I just want a normal Xbox One ... I'm making it sound like having an Xbox One with noise is the impossible and I am sorry but I'm out of options.

    I understand that the forums are dead and I doubt I will get any replies to such a post but none the less, thank you!

    I'm on my 10th Xbox One and needing help.

    When I bought my Xbox One at launch, it was whisper quit. I sold it, but bought a new one later on. It had issues with coil whining, but they removed some of it by releasing a software update, but the fan is still louder than the Xbox I bought at launch.

    I don`t know what to answer. I just realised that I may have to live with it.

    If you have applied all the system updates and the coil noise is unbearable then try to source an earlier model like you suggest.

    How loud is the noise you experience? Could be that it is the new standard until Microsoft release an updated architecture.

    I have two Xbox One Day One Editions and both run almost silent so not sure what the coil whir noise is like.

    My experience with these consoles is that the Day One Editions run more silent than the new consoles.

  7. Hey there, UncivilBag63234! I'm incredibly sorry to see all the trouble you have gone through to ensure you have a quiet console! We are aware of the noise that some consoles made at the end of last year. If a replacement console from the retailer has not
    resolved this, we highly suggest you send it in for repair. This has resolved users that I have worked with in the past. If it doesn't we do try to work with you to get you a console that isn't making those noises.

    Please use our Online Service Center to set up a repair for this, and let me know how it turns out! I'll keep an eye here to see what updates you have for us. I'm on my 10th Xbox One and needing help. :)

    All Xbox One consoles come with a 12 month warranty. You are entitled to a brand new, working console with no noise or fan issues. Take it back to the retailer, get a refund or a replacement.

    Another tip is to buy a brand new console that works and exchange it for the one that's causing you problems. The retailer will return the faulty console back to Microsoft free of charge.

  9. you should be loyal to games not say Microsoft because 8 years LOL i have been with them since the day 1 of the Xbox brand and had 2 original Xbox , went through 12 , 360 consoles because of the red light and i am on my 3rd x1 all same issues as you but
    it turned into the disk drive not working . ps4 and x1 are just delivery methods. I own every console that was main stream since the Atari 2600 and i have learned the only thing that matters is the games and if you prefer a interface on a certain console ,
    but loyalty to any one company for no reason but to say i have been buying from them for 8 years is madness and saying that crazy talk its what a fanboy is (its like me saying i will never buy kitkat bar because i have been buying bountys for the past 8 years
    ). keep gaming for the right reasons

    If it also helps, this is a new console i'm playing on. This account was kept in my brothers xbox, and when i got a new xbox, I recovered the account onto mine (as it's my account) the account has only been on the xbox since around 10th March but the account
