well, in shivering isles you fight a daedric prince, and in knights of the nine you fight umaril who was as much of a god as a mortal can possibly become short of drinking the punch or calling himself a septim, and in skyrim the main antagonist is the nord
variation of akatosh, so i don't see how fighting dagon would've been any more of a stretch.

In Shivering Isle when you fight Jyggalag after you mantle Sheogorath... aka you became Sheogorath so you are no longer mortal but the Deadra lord of Madness. So it is still God vs God.



As for Umaril he is not a God. His Immortality was given to him, making him really just the equivalent of a powerful deadra. All deadra are technically immortal, when on Nirn since when you kill one physical body their soul returns to Oblivion to await another
body. We only killed him for good, and really not too sure if he is truly dead for good, because Talos, a God, blessed us so we could fight him, soul vs soul.



Lastly we have no idea how Skyrim's main quest will end, but since we do know that the dragonborn will be absorbing the souls of the dragons, and that the dragons are Akatosh's Jills. And that the Jills are lesser Aedra, I doubt, if we do face off against
Akatosh himself, that by that time we will be classified as a normal mortal being. After all absorbing the souls of "angels" will affect you in some way.

Loved the homage to Morrowind, and the fact that Bethesda knows and loves the idea of fans having favorite entries in the series. TES3 will probably always be my favorite in the series and i'm starting to be ok with that, whereas in the past i'd hoped they
could recapture the magic it resonated with me and so many others.

i hope the final boss is a boss you actually fight, especially if it's a dragon god. oblivions endgame was little more than a cutscene
