I'm not finding the Xbox Live Gold Code on the box...What should I do?

When I bought GTA V and I saw that I can play online with Xbox Live Gold, I remembered that in the Xbox 360's box there is a promo code that activates a month of free Live Gold.

I took the box and looked everywhere to find this code, but...there wasn't! So now I have a question: how can I do to have a new Xbox Live code for a free month of Gold?

Is there a way?

My grandson signed up for the free x-box live and it worked OK, he got a gold membership and I loaded it on under my account and he is my friend. he wants to play MW3 on line and can not connect to the on-line game. He is listed under my family as an adult
but he still can not play on-line. I'm not very familiar with x-box live or the games. Should I have loaded the gold card under his profile? How can I get it so he can play on-line? He was able to play MW3 on the free one month x-box live promotion, but
can not now that we have the gold membership. What have I done wrong?

 

Destiny Requirements?

My Xbox Live Gold is about to expire, I'm currently playing Destiny and I'm not planning on getting Xbox Live Gold this year.

Do I need Xbox Live Gold to play Destiny?

I would think that you don't as the box doesn't say Online Only.

 

There is no code in the box for the free month. Every new console comes with a free month of gold for up to 3 gamertags. In order to get the gold you have to create a new account. The option is given during the account creation process.

 

Wait, I'm confused...I have bought the Xbox about a year ago and created an account for me, my sister, my dad and my mother. So every account, since its activation, had a free month?

 

Not necessarily, but it's possible. When you create a new account it asks if you want Join Live and gives you the options to purchase a gold subscription. If you choose to join, but don't upgrade, it will give you the free trial (you do have to add a payment
method in order to get the trial).

So it depends on if any of those accounts actually chose to use the trial when they created their accounts or not.

 

"Add a payment method"? This means that to have a free month I have to pay the same?

 

You don't have to pay, but it is a requirement that you add a payment method. Auto-renewal is turned on when you start the trial, so you would have to turn off auto-renewal before the month ends to avoid being charged for another month.

 

And is it possible to turn off auto-renewal when I activate the free month?

 

Cool! Can I also activate the free trial now in my actual account? Or do I need a totally new account?

 

You can only get the free trial on a brand new account.

No cryptocurrencies. Credit card, Paypal and prepaid Xbox Live Gold cards only.

 

Ok, no cryptocurrencies...Prepaid Xbox Live Gold cards? Never heard about them. How do they work?

 

You can get them at retail stores like Best Buy and Walmart.Generally you pay for 3 months ,6 months or 1 year.You scratch off the code on the back of the card and enter it through the Xbox guide on your console or through acct management on Xbox.com.
