I'm not allowed to change Microsoft settings even though I am not in a family.

I was trying to join my friend's Minecraft realm and it brought up the aka.ms/MCMultiplayerHelp website. It said I had to change account settings to allow me to join the realm. When I attempted to change those settings it brought me to support.microsoft.com. It said that I was in a family group and thus couldn't change my settings. I am not in any family and am the only member in the "family" group, in which I am the organizer. I saw someone ask the same question, the Microsoft supporter said to add another account to the family and then leave that family. I did just that and still couldn't access my settings. Do I need to create an organizer account and add my Minecraft account as a member or what exactly is the problem?

I talked with people that experienced the same issue.
This is what I said to them and most of the cases works:

First, see if you're able to leave the actual family group clicking on the three vertical dots next to your name on family tab. If the option doesn't appear proceed with the next:

Create a new account that can be considered as an adult account (try using another web browser or incognito mode).

Once done, add your main account as organizer via the link below. (you can see in the new account an "add member" button

Please double check that you select your main account as organizer too, not member.

Once successfully added, sign out from your account everywhere and restart your PC
Then log in your account again and try downloading the game.

Just to double check, please check if birthdate is more than 18

Something is wrong with the online safety and family section. It's like it's not registering people changing the settings. It's effecting crossplay as I'm stuck with mine saying it's blocked even though it's set to allow.

I’ve tried going into my privacy settings but they’re all allowing everything to happen and when I recently changed my account to be a family organizer so I can change settings. But whatever I do it doesn’t allow me to purchase the map packs within the game. Even though I have them after buying the Season Pass.

I have the same problem too; I'm not in a Microsoft or Xbox family, and I cannot even change my own settings.

I've done that. I've changed every setting possible. I've set everything to the least restrictive setting possible and my kid still can't play among us because he's not allowed to play content another user has created. Even though I have allowed that in settings. Wasted several hours already just getting to this point. Can I get a refund for the game from Microsoft?

I like the idea of the family settings but this isn't the first time I've run into infuriating problems with it.
