I know how annoying it is when something that used to work suddenly breaks, especially with something like Discord voice chat that’s supposed to make gaming easier. Since you’ve already updated both the Xbox and Discord apps, let’s try a few more steps to see if we can get things syncing again.

Try to re-link your Discord and Xbox Accounts. Even if it looks like they’re still linked, a fresh re-link often fixes connection loops like this:

Go to your Discord app > User Settings > Connections

Remove the Xbox connection

Then re-link it again by following the steps here:

Once re-linked, try joining a voice channel again from either your phone or directly on Xbox.

If it's still persisting, clear Persistent Xbox Cache. This helps clear stuck network or app data:

Hold the Xbox power button for 10 seconds to shut it down

Unplug the power cord for 30 seconds

Plug it back in and restart

Then try joining Discord again.

You can also try to use the Discord App Transfer Method Again

Even if it failed before, do this after the re-link and restart:

On your Discord app, join a voice channel

Tap the “Transfer to Xbox” button

Make sure your Xbox is signed in and online before tapping transfer

Watch for the notification to confirm the transfer—sometimes it takes a moment longer to sync after an account has been freshly linked.

Check NAT Type and Xbox Live Services.

Go to:

Settings > General > Network Settings

Make sure your NAT type is Open or at least Moderate. If it’s Strict, that can prevent voice services from syncing properly.

If everything checks out and it still disconnects, then yes—this may be on Discord’s or Xbox’s side temporarily. But if you're seeing it happen for more than a day or so, these steps usually get things going again.

I appreciate you trying the steps, _MrBin_. As you know, once you've connected your accounts, you can use Discord voice chat on Xbox. Please also make sure that you are signed in to the Xbox app. If not, you won't be able to use Discord on Xbox.

You can try to turn off your console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds and then plug the console power cable back in. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn it on.

Then open the Discord app.

Tap the voice chat channel you wish to connect to.

Tap Try voice chat on console! at the bottom of your screen.

Tap Join on Xbox.

Do not tap Join Voice; this will connect to the call via your phone.

Your Xbox app will now open; tap Transfer Voice to complete the process.

If you're connected to a Discord voice channel on your Xbox console, your party chat status will say “Discord” and the name of the voice channel that you're in. If you want to join or start an Xbox party chat, disconnect from the Discord voice channel so that you can switch over to game or party chat.

There is no setting to record Discord voice chat. As Discord voice channel audio can’t be broadcasted through Xbox live streaming either
