I'm having trouble changing the e-mail address associated with my Xbox live account.

This does suggest Microsoft account is associated with the wrong email. What I would do is on the Xbox with the Gamertag you believe is the right one is check the E-mail address associated with it. A Gamertag is associated with a Microsoft Account but
the E-mail address that is associated with a Microsoft Account\E-mail address can change. Hope that helps and makes sense.

If I'm reading this correctly, your best option would be to tie your Xbox Account to your personal e-mail address (Change the e-mail associated with it under your info). Then create a new Microsoft account with your "work" e-mail address.

Those links provide information on changing the name of your gamertag,not actually moving your gamertag to another e-mail address.Changing your gamertag as listed on those pages are just basically changing your display name name
to everyone.It changes the name only,nothing else.

It's currently not possible to change the e-mail address associated with an Xbox Live gamertag via the web seeing as you have to sign into this website with your e-mail address.If you were to change the e-mail address associated
with an account while signed into that e-mail,I could see things going wrong.I believe that's why they restrict it to being done on the console only.

Is it at all possible to use a friend or relative's console to do this?All you need to know is your e-mail address and password associated with your account (Which you already know since you signed in here) so you can recover your
account to their Xbox.Then you'd be able to do what you need to do.

Trust me,you are not alone in this.Many people have this problem,sometimes even more complicated.If you can get to an Xbox console somewhere,I'm sure you'll have very little trouble in solving your problem.

Is it possible to change the main e-mail address associated with my Live ID/gamertag if the e-mail address no longer exists? I did not log into the account for years and now it's gone, so I cannot check the e-mails I would receive for things like password
changes.

And I would REALLY like to change my password, considering it's from 2008..

So if I want to associate an e-mail address with a profile on the Xbox, it has to be a different e-mail address than one already established with a Live account?
