    Im Having problems with the Xbox headset chat mixer.


    I have tried multiple things, and a suggestion I've done, it was:hold the Xbox button down until it powers off or hold it down for 9
    seconds, then unplug Xbox for 5mins    . I did that, still bugged. and this really annoys me, because it does it when I'm not in a party too. it NEVER lets me adjust it. which means I cannot play my favorite
    games. like the FNAF series, and Hello neighbor which you both need audio for. I cant enjoy games now because of this glitch,

    Hello Benbo, sorry to hear you're having trouble with your headset.

    It sounds like your headset has a separate volume and chat mixer. One of the volumes that you've turned all the way up is the mixer and should be to at least the half way point in order to hear both the chat and game.

    I had this exact same problem for a bit with one of my headsets and that was the the problem

    Are you using a wireless headset like Astro A50? If so then you have to use the physical chat mixer that is built in to the headset as the console guide chat mixer will be greyed out.

    Are you plugging your headset into your controller? If so then have you checked the console Chat Mixer settings to see if it has been set to 100% Game Audio? The newer Dashboard has the Chat Mixer at the bottom of the Xbox nexus Home tab (bottom right speaker
    icon). If you see the Headset Chat Mixer slider is all the way to one side (eg Game) then move it towards the other side. Normally it would be at 50/50 mark.

    If you have an older Dashboard then you'll have to look for the tab that includes the Chat or Audio setting (sorry, I don't recall whether everyone has been updated to the newer Dashboard style yet) and check/change the adjustments there.

    If you have a wireless headset (eg Astro A50 series) then the Chat Mixer setting is adjusted on the headset itself. I'm guessing you don't have this type headset though as the Chat Mixer setting usually resets back to the middle (50% Game, 50% Chat) every
    time the console is restarted. Note that when an Astro A50 series is connected, the console Chat Mixer settings are grayed out since you have to make the adjustments on the headset itself.

    Hi Sencha,

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you want to know how to adjust your chat mixer. To do this, press the Xbox button on the controller to open the menu. Select the Audio icon to modify the settings. On the next page, you can find three options: Headset volume, Headset chat mixer, and Mic monitoring. Make sure to set the Headset chat mixer to 40-60%.
