I'm having issues with privacy settings and the Xbox party chat. Please help!

I can see that you are having trouble with the party chat feature in Halo Infinite. This issue may be caused by a mismatch between your privacy settings and your friend's privacy settings. To fix this, please follow these steps:



1. Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide.

2. Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy > View details and customize > Communication & multiplayer.

3. Make sure that you have the option "You can communicate outside of parties with voice & text" set to "Everybody" or "Friends".

4. Ask your friend to do the same on their console.

5. Restart the game and try to join the party chat again.

Next thing I would check if your
Privacy and Online Safety Settings. See if the settings there are set to allow you to talk in parties.

But also, to be clear, is this Xbox Party chat, or in game chat we're talking about?

I have the exact same problem. Spent 5 hrs over two days with support staff but still no chat. I've pretty well given up.

We need to isolate the issue first. Please try these steps:

1. Check that your privacy settings allow communication with everyone. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety> Xbox privacy. Select View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer, and then make your changes.

2. Unmute or unblock the person you’re trying to chat with. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select parties & chats. Select the party to expand the party roster, choose the person you want to unmute and select Unmute.

3. Check the party chat volume for each person in your party. Press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select parties & chats. Select the party to expand the party roster, choose the person you want to check, and then verify that their volume slider is at a level that you can hear. To change the volume level, move left or right using the D-pad or the left stick to adjust the volume slider.

Can you talk to your friends on Xbox Party Chat?

Have you checked that your account's privacy settings aren't preventing you from chatting with players outside the Xbox network?

After checking your account privacy settings, please follow this step and try again.

Clean your console's MAC and restart your internet devices.

Network Settings> Advanced Settings> MAC Address and Clear.
