I'm having an issue with realms not being allowed on my xbox.

I just went back to go try and play minecraft realms after a few months and i was met with the issue saying i wasn't allowed to due to my microsoft account settings.

Nothing has changed since the last time i played, and ive already checked that my settings allow me to play multiplayer games.

My account is a child account on the xbox, and the parent account is one that no one in my family has access to and has been around since the Xbox 360.

The family settings have no restrictions on games such as minecraft, even allowing gta 5.

Ive looked all over the web and everything is leading me to 5 different places with links that lead me no where. Id appreciate different help with clear directions instead of just a link if you could, i just dont do well without it. Thanks

Restart your internet devices, clear your console's MAC and try again.

To clean the MAC follow this path
Settings>general>network settings>advanced settings>alternative MAC address and click clear and restart the console when prompted.

If the problem persists reset the console to factory defaults, you won't lose anything but you will need to log in with your account again. Email and password are required.

Follow this path and select reset keeping games and app.
In 5 to 10 minutes you will finish reconfiguring your console

To reset the console>
Settings> System> Console Info> Reset Console

***Do not reset your console without having your account email and password.***

I'm having the same issue with Realms! Whenever I try accepting an invite to one of my friends' realms, it keeps saying "You are unable to play multiplayer because of how your account is set up. Change your settings on aka.ms/accountsettings to allow this,"
but my settings are already set to "allow multiplayer."

Hi, my son is having the same issue being unable to join his friend’s minecraft realm when invited. The privacy settings are already set to allow multiplayer, join clubs etc and I renewed the Xbox live gold subscription.

I’d be so grateful for some help please?!

I'm having the same issue, almost exactly except on the Xbox one. Both my kids can access local hosted worlds but not my realm, same error messages as above, same settings link used. I have also tried opening ALL permission settings to allow with no effect.

I'm experiencing this on PC.
Seems to only happen on Realms.

I've checked my Privacy settings just to be sure everything was allowed and it was.
