    I'm getting exit code -1073741818 whenever I try to launch minecraft java edition


    As the question says I am getting that error code whenever I start the game and I cannot find any information about this exit code. I have tried everything in my power to try and resolve this including uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing has worked. Any help is appreciated!

    When I launch whether minecraft.exe of minecraft-launcher.exe, this opens the launcher, I haven't found other executable files.

    Minecraft will not open via launcher, only through microsoft store.

    The Minecraft launcher you are referring to is only for the Java edition of Minecraft. The Java edition and Windows 10, are two separate games. In order to launch and play Minecraft from the launcher you are using in the last image, you must buy the Java
    edition from the site, not the Windows 10 version. Minecraft Java Edition | Minecraft. Annoying I know, but when Microsoft acquired Minecraft they released
    their own version of the game on their platform. Hope this helps
