I'm getting charged for a full month when my auto renew expires in 2 days

I canceled my "had no idea this was happening" auto renew last month, and I just got charged yesterday for this month. However, because I canceled the auto-renew, it still says my Gold expires in 2 days. So I'm getting charged for a full month for something
I don't want, but they're only going to give it to me for 2 days? I'm confused, and definitely looking for a refund. Sitting online waiting for an agent now, but was hoping someone else had this problem and could offer advice?

Early Charge?

I recently just cancelled my auto-renew for XBL. It told me that my XBL membership will expire on the 4th of this month.

However, I checked my bank account today (2nd) and noticed that I was charged $9.99 for "MSFT *XBOX LIVE BILL.XB".

Assuming that I was just charged for another month of XBL, for September, why is it expiring in two days?

Charge Prices

I bought the 2 months for 2$ E3 special, heres my problem its set to auto renew and i have a credit card on file which it will charge to renew Xbox live. My question is how much will be charged to this card when the 2 months is over and it renews?

Follow-up: So according the Xbox representative, the charge on March 2nd was for the period of Feb. 4-March 4 of Xbox Live. That makes no sense to me, but I'll just have to be very careful in the future to NEVER deal with Xbox subscriptions of ANY KIND through
the console directly, but ALWAYS with a prepaid card so that I won't have to deal with the horrors of sneaky auto-renew and all of its customer-screwing fallout.

Auto renew problems arose when I took advantage of a 4.99-for-one-month renewal through the console directly. Had never done anything but cards before, so didn't even know auto-renew was a thing until my bank account showed monthly withdrawals for it. Sigh....

Sorry to hear about the auto renewal not being described properly the first time around.

For future reference you should always be able to manage your account and the various payments and payment methods that come along with it from account.microsoft.com/services/

The site has a lot of great info on your account and let's you keep track of what you are paying for and when.

If auto-renewal is turned off, it will just run until that day and then expire. It won't charge you again. If you leave auto-renewal turned on, it will charge you again.

yes or any valid form of payment cause when the 30 day ends the system will charge you the full price for a month (unless you turn off auto renewal before your 30 days is up).

Hello Austyn,

Just to add a little to what Smwutches said. Once the 2 months is over then you can purchase it on the account you want to keep. You can go turn off the auto renew so it wont charge when it gets close to expiring.
