    I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with Microsoft and my Xbox One.


    I'd like to preface this message by saying that I've always been a huge Xbox and Microsoft fan. The first Xbox was one of the first consoles I owned and was my first experience in online gaming. Since then, I have purchased each subsequent Xbox in addition
    to maintaining my Xbox Live account for close to 10 years now.

    A couple weeks ago, my disc drive on my Xbox One system began to grind and became unable to read discs a majority of the time. I kept putting off sending it in because I wanted to have it over Thanksgiving and the holidays, but as it began to damage my discs
    I realized it was necessary that I send it in. I processed an order request yesterday and planned to send it in later today. Last night, I went to play a couple more games before I sent it in only to discover that now my Kinect is unresponsive and is also
    broken, and will be requiring service. For one thing to break is already bad enough, but for two things to break around the same time in a system that is less than a year old is unacceptable.

    The reason I wanted to keep my system during Thanksgiving and the reason this upsets me is that I planned to play it with my brother. My brother lives in a different city and I hardly get to see him anymore, but he will be home for a day or two at Thanksgiving.
    When we were young, we used to stay up together and play Halo: CE and Halo 2 campaigns together on the same screen and had tons of fun doing so. This was one of the few things we could do together that didn't lead to us fighting and allowed some bonding time.
    I purchased Halo: Master Chief Collection last week in anticipation of being able to relive those campaign memories with him next week during Thanksgiving break. The matchmaking and online problems didn't bother me as the campaign was working fine and we would
    be able to play it again. Instead, I will now be without my system next week. I am still happy I am fortunate enough to spend the time with family, but I can't express enough how disappointed I am with Microsoft that this opportunity to relive childhood memories
    with my brother is no longer possible. It might seem trivial, but it is very frustrating and not something I expect to have to deal with less than a year after spending $500 on the system. Additionally, I am not thrilled that I will be paying for several weeks
    to a month of Xbox Live that I will be unable to use.

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to lodge this complaint or air my frustrations, but I don't know where else is more appropriate. I am extremely disappointed in Microsoft and have lost some respect for a company I have supported for well over a decade.
    I expected much better.

    I really hope gamers will take a step back...

    I'm extremely disappointed with Xbox one. The kinnect is one of many reasons why I'm disappointed with it. I don't like the kinnect and I don't want one shoved down my throat with xbox one. I'm seriously debating about going back to Sony. Hopefully
    E3 will give us good news.

    I have the sale problem! I send m'y Xbox one to fix or change(the product comes with defect on laser reader) and after one month, the Microsoft in Brasil didn't give a real feedback! Where is my Xbox one? This is really frustrated to me. I am really disappointed

    If you would have sent it in a couple of weeks ago when you first noticed it you would have had it back by thanksgiving. Don't get upset with Microsoft because you put off the repair as long as you could.

    The complaint isn't with the wait time of repair, the complaint I have is that I am being forced to have a system repaired for multiple broken pieces within a year of my owning it. That is not ok, especially for the price and for a company with the size
    and reputation of Microsoft.

    I just got mine back from repair today. It's a electronic device, it needed fixed. No big deal at all. Even new cars need fixed in the first year and you pay a hell of a lot more for those than a Xbox.

    Sometimes stuff breaks. It happens. At least it's under warranty, right? I'm extremely disappointed and frustrated with Microsoft and my Xbox One. :)

    fyerball 72, how long did it take for you to get your back from repair? I'm curious of the time line I'm looking at. And yes, ZenSteve, thankfully it's under warranty, but I still don't expect multiple problems in the first year. I'm just hoping it comes
    back issue free and better than new.

  10. If mine were to ever break, it would be replaced with a brand new system that same day. I spent $50 for the GameStop warranty. It's $50 for that peace of mind that if anything were to happen, I'd get a new one without any issues. None of this repair crap.

    That being said, I've heard horror stories about MS and their repair service. Why do they repair it and not just replace it? I heard the competition just replaces the system and does so very quickly.

    25 days from date of pick up till I had it back in my hands. However, looking at the build date of the one I got back I would guess it is a new one.

    This is extremely disappointing and frustrating. I never had these problems with the 360 unit. This is not my issue, this is an issue with the xbox one software.

    Dashboard won't load.

    I am also extremely frustrated by this. It is obvious microsoft has known about this for a while now and have done nothing to fix it. I haven't even been able to play online for the past week and my hard drive wiped itself out randomly. Extremely disappointing
    with Microsoft on this one, I hope they make it up to us.
