I'm Done...

I started playing KI early this morning and for once the netcode was fantastic. I nearly ranked back to Rank 18. Stopped playing and then came back after lunch. No go. The game wouldn't even load half the time, when it did I continuously was desynced. Every
match. I'd reboot and I might play one match and do well and then bam... I lose to a Rank 4 who couldn't even finish a combo simply because I can not counter break. I fought several matches and lost 3 ranks and now almost a 4th. MS has done nothing to elevate
desyncs and matches that simply don't load. I'm tired of fighting WITH the game, versus just enjoying it. The number of network issues that I face every single time I load the game far out weighs the good times. It was a great game at one time, but now, it's
a mess. At this point, I don't really care at all about Season 2. I'm not going to buy it. I solemnly ask everybody to protest it. What MS has done is not right. It's like a father purchasing their child a toy and comes to find out it's broken. Instead of
taking the toy back, he insists the child be happy with the broken item. I'm not happy. A number of people aren't happy. I've erased KI off my Xbox One. I've deleted all of my data as I don't have ANY desire to every touch it again.

As stated KI showed promise of greatness. At one time it's netcode was one of the greatest I've ever experienced (and that's saying something coming from a loyal Capcom fighter -- CHUNG-LI all the way baby!!!!) but now all I ever do is watch my character,
no matter who I'm playing get destroyed, no matter the skill. It's like I have a permanent handicap. This has retriggered my anxiety issues and honestly something as silly as a game it's not worth it. It's not worth me becoming a rage quitter just to maintain
my Rank. I won't be that. I won't do that. So I'm cutting ties.

The great question that stands before us is, where do we go from here? Should large companies be able to sell us defective games? Heavens no. I'm not whiny. I know that glitches happen, but it should be any companies desire to resolve these issues as quickly
as possible. If these issues existed at the beginning and were quickly resolved, then I wouldn't be writing this. However having game crippling glitches nearly 6 mo after the fact... It's a shame... It's a sham.

Why this whole thing upsets me, is that we were promised greatness, but look at this very forum... You can't not tell me that a company as large as MS who has billions of dollars, couldn't give us a proper forum to post. I feel like the rejected child no
body wants.

Again all my friends... I truly have enjoyed playing you. I've made so many new friends than I could have ever imagined, but this is the end for me.

I've tried to enjoy playing Bingo on here. No more. It rarely connects and when it does it disconnects in the middle of games just for the round to be over by the time it connects again. Games are meant to be fun and relaxing, not annoying and stressful.

Well Microsoft I, Speaking on behalf of many other people, Am quite simply done with your console, customer support, games, and company in general. I'm personally so upset if i could go to a different operating system for my computer I would. The Major Issues,
WHICH YOU ARE AWARE OF BUT DO NOTHING ABOUT< are as follows. 1. quite frankly your console and perifrials are very poorly made. All you have to do is search controller drift on you tube or google. Go ahead,,,count the posts. 2. you basicly put a virus on our
systems that dosnt work, I.E. Microsoft edge. No option for download or uninstall, and It just plain dosnt work, You have, amazingly, released something that is straight up broken, 3. Your company more then all the rest caters to the dollar is the bottom line
mentality and it is so visable it might as well be printed on your products, In fact I have a name for your next console, " The 400 dollar inferior pretend machine" Stuff like this is exactly why games like Battlefront turned out the way they did, You cater
to the higher ups and dollar faced **** instead of making a product which people care about and support. You have simply Failed, Scammed, and Abandoned your customer base. Result, I have bought over 300 dollars worth of games, I was in line for Battlefield
2 and ESO as my main games on console and that was going to be on x box one, However after all this I and several other people.I know, Including all those i can convince, Am leaving for the playstation network and console. I'd ask for my money back, part of
me wants to simply demand it and take no $%it about it but I know from experience that that is a pipe dream. For those of you that agree with this post Please bump this thread. I am holding you responsable for this Microsoft, Whats worse is that I know you
are aware of all this and simply care to focus on making the next buck instead, You are a symptom of the greed based system that has allowed #$%tty companys like yours to thrive. No More. Gamers unite and stand up to this crap. No Pre Orders, No buy without

In regards to the netcode, I do suffer from frequent drops far more often then I would like, and it would be nice for the developers to fix it, but that's the problem - there are no developers to fix it. The developers of the game, Double Helix have gone
out of business and a new developer, Iron Galaxy, has taken over in its place. The new developers are currently working on season 2 for the game, which will likely (and hopefully) include numerous fixes to the game and its net-code.

As for losing matches, I think that's simply a matter of your knowledge regarding the game mechanics (you did say you can't counter-break, which is a HUGE game mechanic that is needed to do well). Trust me - I was in the same boat with you once, and then
I took the time to lean how to read my opponents based on the characters they play and the strengths of those characters.

That being said, another issue that I have with the game is the ranking system. Whenever I have a rank-up or rank-down match, it ALWAYS pairs me with another player that's 10+ ranks higher than me. I can understand a need for a challenge, but that's overkill.
Even worse, because it does it during rank-down matches too, the game effectively sets you up to fail and as a result widens the skill gap between novice players and skilled players, with nobody in-between.

 

In truth, I'm fairly decent at judging the various animations for light, medium, and heavy attacks with almost all the characters, as I generally use them all during Exhibition matches. My Combo Break issue occurs along with a whole plethora of other issues.
When the netcode is working fine, I can combo break and counter break almost every time. When the netcode isn't working, when my opponent starts their combo, I immediately get an Orange check mark. So I have no chance to break it. So I wait until they start
their second chain and either NOTHING will happen or I get a Red check mark, even though I input the correct buttons for the said animation... such as Orchid's lights (at the waist then at the legs) It still reads that I input the wrong commands. However this
is not the only thing that is happening... During these frustrating fights the animation tends to break and tear... I will see characters warp around the screen, get divided into several copies of themselves and such. The netcode will then start misinterpreting
commands and moves... A good example is performing Sabrewulf's jumping HK, into crouching HK manual + combo of choice. Instead of allowing me to perform a follow up combo, it immediately initiates Shadow Jumping Slash, even though my finger never left HK.
Sadira will do a Counter Break with quarter circle forward HP. It's like all of my keys have been suddenly switched around. I reboot KI and it works fine, until we experience slow down and then bang, I'm back in the same rut. I can literally be destroying
another player and then boom, I can't perform the most basic of attacks. It's not the controller because I have no problems during offline. I think that I am entering these matches several frames behind the other player (hence the warping fighters) and the
netcode is unable to match up the inputs with what is on screen.

I might think there is something wrong with my XOne or my controller, but the sad fact is, IF I play EARLY in the morning when hardly anyone else is playing, it works flawlessly, but I'm not going to wake up at 4 am to play KI. :/

 

I have the same issue. Haven't played online for days now as it's just too damn frustrating! A month ago it was fine, no problems. Now I get lag a pretty much constant desync.

This NEEDS to be fixed.

 

Good for you. I stopped playing the game as well. The game has become unstable, especially the online portion. I was an early adopter, I literally got a x1 the first week it came out and started playing KI ever since but I've had enough. Every patch DH introduced
broke the game further, then they abandon ship and we're stuck with this broken mess.

At the very least Microsoft or the new dev team should have a PR guy post on these forums and communicate with the fans, not treat them like insignificant dogs and ignore all the problems the game has. They think that doing a crappy stream on twitch once
a week mashing buttons and saying nothing about fixing the game is enough. Theres a reason this forum is dead and the scene for Killer Instinct isn't growing. Ki forums are dead all over the net. The new devs have one shot to redeem this game, a hail mary,
they better hope they come up with something fast because people are losing interest and there are some new fighting games coming out within the year that they have to compete with, primarily the new Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat x . For now, I am done
with this game as well, not worth the hassle.

 

I agree Chris4387. If MS or somebody from Iron Galaxy would simply post here, stating that they know there are issues. Apologize for the inconvenience, and advise us that they are truly working on getting it fixed, it would at least be something. Something
to hope for. However, we haven't heard anything. There are more and more people jumping into KI only to find that the game is a mess. Many of my friends purchased the Ultimate Edition (when it went on sale) and have thus now uninstalled it because the game
wouldn't boot, or they found that the online was so atrocious that they could barely play a match. These people never got to see KI in all its glory. They're first impression was unfortunately their last impression.

Good news though. Ultra Street Fighter 4 comes out tomorrow and I will be able to Chung-li people to death. (They actually improved her instead of nerfing the crap out of her, like they did the last time).

You guys should atleast wait till e3 next week when they show off season 2 they will probably be breaking their silence and be able to talk about where the games heading you never know they might of been listening to all the problems and have a patch/fix
ready so just give them a little more time but if they still dont talk about anything then we complain.

 

agreed afg ninja, Im in agreement. That is exactly why I mentioned they still have a chance to redeem the game, however, for now, the game is dead to me. I'll wait until E3 and see what their plans are, how they plan to communicate with us and basically
their goal for the KI franchise and future.

The KI community has lasted 17 years, I'm sure they can last another few months

 

As a long standing KI fan, my love for KI hasn't changed, nor will it, but we're speaking more in terms of the many MANY glitches that need to be addressed sooner, rather than later. It's hard for me to justify spending time playing KI, when the game only
works about roughly 30% of the time (online that is). I get desynced frequently in Lobbies, Exhibition Matches, as well as in Ranked. In fact there are so many netcode issues at the moment, that (as mentioned), you spend more time fighting WITH the game, versus
playing the game. While I haven't suffered data loss, like so many of my friends, that particular issue has been a problem ever sense Spinal's release.

I can wait for Season 2... I don't care about that... but I don't want to wait until Oct/Nov for them to address these gameplay problems that keeps ruining the experience.

The fact is, there are a LOT of great games coming in the future, especially in the fall, and if they want me to invest in KI Season 2, they are going to have to first fix KI Season 1...
