I'm At My Wits End!!!!!!!!!! This All Started Beginning of October when I Downloaded ...

Ok, here's the situation: (1) In the beginning of October I downloaded Netflix Update. (2) Movie was a bit shaky and lagging. (3) My XBOX 360 Slim locked up. (4) I restarted it. (5) Now, all I can do is access the dashboard. (6) Games won't play, Disk or
Download. It locks up, I get a blank screen (7) Apps lock up.

NOTE:

• Machine has hardly been used
• It is not overheating
• It worked fine in June (which was the last time it was used)
• Never had any problem with machine ever
• I cleared the cache, wiped the hard drive, erased profiles and re-downloaded them

Finding Dory on Disney Infinity 3.0 Xbox360 won't download language

I am getting nowhere with this play set and now have a very unhappy 9 yr old Downloaded the language pack, it said download 100% complete but when we try play it still says we need to download the pack. I'm at my wits end.

 

Security update preventing me from logging on to xbox live. Error code 80048821

Hahaha I'm at my wits end, microsoft's account update must be broken! I spent ages resetting passwords and stuff and I got sick of it and recovered the account... It downloaded with the email and the new password perfectly, I SAVED the new password and when
the security update came up it told me I had the wrong information even though I just recovered it with the SAME information. Now I can't sign into Xbox live my gt is btw.

Try playing a disc without your HDD inserted. If it boots without your HDD, there may be a corrupted file (check for those), or your HDD may be failing and needing to be replaced. If it still locks up with no peripherals attached, then your console needs
to be serviced.

 

@Irixion, I just tried your suggestion, game disk won't play with HDD removed, just showing black screen. But....I've never had a problem with this Xbox before the Netflix update at the beginning of the month. After the update, Kinect freezes, games won't
play, apps freeze at their start screen. This Xbox is hardly ever used, how could their be any damage? (purchased brand new 2012, paid extra for star wars version, only been used approx. 10-20 times since purchase).

 

Consoles start aging the moment they're manufactured. That being said, try a different game, that has a single player that you can test. Pop the disc in, remove _all_ of your peripherals and storage (internal and external). Don't sign into your profile or
Xbox Live. Just boot the game. If it doesn't work, then your console needs to be serviced.

 

Sorry to hear it. Although it's not been used that often it is possible that an accumulation of dust has still rendered it inoperable. If you don't use the console for lengthy periods of time then dust will settle on and in the console. This could possibly
prevent the console for operating properly.

You may need to send the console in for a repair.

There is no dust on the console, the first thing I did was check all of the basics. I tried playing a game without signing into profile, I formatted the hard drive, made new profile, I did everything that I could. The download of the Netflix Update and I
believe I did a System Update that same night, Is what Caused this damage!! Now, I don't have money to repair my XBox. Not to mention, Isn't Microsoft responsible for the corrupt updates? Why Should I have to pay for a repair? And, how do I know that another
update won't damage it again? I'm done with XBox, what a massive letdown and waste of time and money.

 

Don't get all pouty. The update didn't cause any damage. What does the console do when you insert a disc and try to run it without any accessories? It shouldn't display a black screen.Press RB +LB + X on the storage screen to force the removal of all updates.
Clear your cache. Try it again. It could be a multitude of things. If nothing works after your updates are removed, then it's your console and not your updates, and it needs to be serviced.

 

Thanks Irixion, but I'm not "getting all pouty", I am a dissatisfied customer. I've already stated on this thread that I've done everything possible that I could for days on end, including what you just stated above. And it shouldn't be a black screen when
I insert a game, but it is. Obviously the update caused this because it worked perfectly fine before the update. After I installed the update, everything went haywire. This has happened to plenty of people. Just google it.
