Anyone who has gamed on a PC in the last 5 yrs will tell you that driver and game updates are all automated now so that's no longer an issue.

Upgrading hardware is strictly up to the consumer. Just because I can play Skyrim on Ultra doesn't mean you can't play the game. simply drop the resolution.

The technology is here today to allow us to play virtually every video game ever made on a Windows platform with emulators. Anyone could spend 500 bucks on a budget PC and have access to everything.

Pretty much, it seems like it has been left to the users to sort out the problems, UseYourIllusion has made a few Greasemonkey scripts to sort out page numbers and the forum tree at the bottom/top of threads and on the index page and Lout has made another
script to change the theme slightly and change the sizing spacing of things.

Really makes you wonder who designed this place if they're taking ages to fix problems that other users have sorted in a day or so.

The censor has made me laugh though, a lot of posts look like they're in some sort of code.

On the contrary! They'll have the ability to record their cross-game chat! I want us to copy the hell out of that! That would be awesome for game channels.

and made your friends but a game, which is what the majority of so called MS defenders could see from the beginning!

Now @BSTN people like me hey? The people that make these threads go sour are the people that come in here and bring up PS4 for no reason or how bad X1 is without clearly owning one.

And on to the link I posted the connection between 2 Australians on Shareplay would be just as bad. Why would you want any lag?

Facts always get in the way.....Here is MS's original plan, You don't see a difference and why developers would have a problem with it compared to SharePlay?

As for game sharing, Microsoft now says that game sharing will be allowed, but in a far more limited fashion than how passing a game to a friend works today. “Xbox One is designed so game publishers can enable you to give your disc-based games to your
friends. There are no fees charged as part of these transfers. There are two requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days, and each game can only be given once.” In other words, people who have been
newly added to your friends list won’t be allowed to accept game loans, and repeated loans won’t be allowed to the same friend.

In addition, Microsoft has revealed that up to ten players in your “family” can have access to your shared library of games from any console, and you’ll be able to access your full library of games and play them from any connected Xbox One.

 

I guess this is why we can't have discussions here. I think there are people here for the confrontation aspect of it rather than a meaningful discussion.

I have someone who isn't a PC gamer telling me the disadvantages of it.

I don't even know how to respond to you. You know what SharePlay can do and yet you tell me you can't see a difference between that and this
news.xbox.com/.../license from a developers/publishers viewpoint, it's financial impact.

 

That's because you don't understand it yourself. Please explain the disadvantages. And please don't come at me with the confrontational stuff. I'm not the one that brings up other platforms all the time and nice assumption that I don't play on other platforms.

 

Bringing up other platforms features is not confrontational if it's promoting discussion of those features. Telling me I don't understand something that I've provided two different links as evidence that I do is confrontational.

MS's original plan was allow 10 people access to a player's game library, one of which could be simultaneous.

SharePlay requires me to be partied with the person I'm sharing with and it's capped at an hour.

That's a huge difference, SharePlay is very limited compared to the MS plan.

I don't actually understand what you're even try to say, I'll assume your typing from a phone. MS original plan was better? Developers let SharePlay happen so why not the MS plan? ( if that's the case see above).

@BSTN yh comparing isnt allowed on here maybe that is why everytime you comment on a thread it gets locked. i got banned for 2 months from the psn forums for saying how bad driveclub is yet i mention forza and im banned

 

maybe a guy in america using shareplay with a guy down under would be bad but if it used AZURE there would be no connection issues. gotta love xbl ah

 

Share play has the same disadvantages to developers as the Family Share from MS, if not worst. But again.... MS isn't allowed to do anything without being put under the scope and subsequently ripped apart by the self proclaimed experts that can't understand
a simple policy that literally spells it out to you.

In all seriousness, not sure why anybody who doesn't own a PS cares about shareplay and how good it does or doesn't work. If I had a PS I wouldn't use it as I see no point. Its nothing more than a demo that is extremely reliant on a connection. But thats
not to say others wont like it and use the feature alot. Also it all depends on what features devs turn off. If COD is turning off MP then its useless if thats the game I want to test before buying.

Not sure how well the MS family sharing could have worked, but developers would've taken a hit but they (some) were in support of the original vision right? All in all its just plastic who cares?

1hr in a party is worse than 10 people unlimited, 2 at the same time....that's makes sense.

It makes as much sense as the simple policy that spells it all out that a self proclaimed expert ( me I'm assuming) doesn't understand. I have no idea what policy you're talking about. I have SharePlay so I understand that, MS policy regarding?

This is why these threads get locked, drive by post that say nothing just to stir the pot and always the same people.
