    I'm A Member of Not-My-Family.


    Hey, all. I just tried to make a purchase on my Microsoft account, and found out that I'm, in fact, a member of my neighbors family and have restrictions. I initially created the account on my Windows 10 PC, and did sign in on his One, which must
    have tied me to his family. I've browsed the site a bit and can't find anything that screams 'Back out of family here!', anyone know how I can do it?

    Strange family behaviour

    Hello.

    I'm not sure if this should go here or not but I recieved several email's yesterday around 4-6:30pm with titles like:

    Person X is no longer a family member

    Person Y accepted your request

    Person Y is no longer a family member

    abut strangest of all was one saying that I'd been removed from my own family and needed an adult to re-add me (I'm 25)

    Has this happened to a lot of people or is it a new thing?

    Can't add a child to my xbox family

    I am the parent. My account exists on both microsoft and xbox. I have a child account, which exists on both microsoft and xbox. The child account is a member of my microsoft family. The child is NOT a member of my xbox family. I cannot figure out how
    to add the child account to my xbox family. I don not have an xbox console.

    I'm sorry to know that, JudeHarcourt. Kindly ask your family member if they have added you as a member of their Microsoft account's family group.

    Kindly check your date of birth here since you mentioned that you are over the age of eighteen: https://account.microsoft.com/profile

    If it's correct, please try the steps below.

    Select the Windows icon on your PC then go to Settings then System -> Apps -> Apps & features -> look for Xbox app and click it. ->The advanced options link will appear. Click it. -> On the next page, click on the Reset button to reset Xbox app to default settings.

    After that, kindly sign out and sign back in on the Microsoft store and Xbox app.

    Have you ever had multiple accounts on your console? Weird that it would have only 1 member, and that member is a ID'ed as a child.

    In order to change your privacy/family settings, you would need to be signed in as the Organizer/Parent to make those changes (either directly on Xbox.com, via Xbox settings, or the app).
