IGN reports Halo TV series to be broadcast on Showtime

Ya thats lame too "Powers" at least they have only made one 60 minute episode hopefully it just dies out cause you don't hear much about it. But I don't think what there doing is as ambitious as what Xbox is doing but it's still a waste to me.

Sony is making a stand alone 4K Ultra HD Media Player too so maybe there content will at leasy be 4k considering they said last year that the PS4 could do 4k stills and movie streams cause Netfllix is going 4K so they both better do the same.

Just read an article saying the PS4 isnt capable of 4k right now. Xbox One is though, but its gonna be awhile before 4K catches on, if it does at all

 

Ya they will just do a update for it when there ready no big deal. My next tv will be a 4k before the end of the year so I will use whatever let's me stream 4k I don't care what names on it.

 

I just saw the video on the subject - in it, Ryan MCaffrey cofirms what 24 has said. Although this does seem backwards (XBL Gold members should get it 1st, IMO) it just means you have to be patient & wait your turn (unless, of course, you acquire or already
have Showtime).

 

Showtime is not $30 a month. And if it is I would suggest getting a new television provider. But needless to say, that's disappointing if true.

 

4k tv's need to go down in price. sony have just got rid of there tv division havent they? my dad has a 4k tv his after a 4k curve tv 4k doesnt bother me but i do know ms said xb1 can do 4k for games but i dont see that happening yet

 

^^I dont know if Sony got rid of their tv division. They should because its way overpriced.

Oh I am not doubting that they sold off the tv division. I already knew about the PC division and how they still had to pay for the computer parts they still had. Sad thing is Sony is a sinking ship(not the PS4 the company as a whole)Competition is good
for gamers regardless of which console you prefer.

Anyone else interested in the Quantum Break show? I really want to see how interactive it will be and how the game effects the show and vice versa

 

Sony did not sell of there tv division they have new 4k sets out in June, 50 inch for about 2 thousand. They did a while back stop making there own lcd panels.

Sony has a lot more going on then just tvs and PS4 they will be fine even though you wish they wouldn't.

 

no bstn i want them to be fine i do own sony stuff the ps4 division is fine the tv the pc and the ps3 division is not the ps3 division was 4.2billion in debt they sold the pc division as it was rubbish

 

Sony tvs are poor IMO. On topic tho, kinda unfair for X1 owners but show time has a broader base than X1 and actors, producers, staff etc need to be paid. I have showtime so no worries.

Historically movies don't seem to fare well when they based on a video game. And making a TV show is much harder to do because somehow you have to not only create a fascinating story, but stretch it out over the life of the series.

Movies based on video games usually suck:

Silent Hill - 29%

It's a more forgiving situation if a movie is based on a video game and it does poorly. Why? Because our standards in film have dropped. Look how many movies Adam Sandler has been in, and how many are just complete ****.

Why do these movies do poorly? Well because the people that are drawn to these stories are gamers and what do gamers like? We like to have control. When a game tries to stretch the boundaries and cater to a wider audience, it usually fails because when
you condense a game story down to just the story, it's normally not very long and TYPICALLY it's not very in depth. It may seem that it is because you are in the game and fighting to survive or whatever.

Something bad happens to a theme like that when you go from an active participant to sitting back in a chair and watching the story passively. The thinness of the story will be glaring unless it's completely rewritten but sometimes that doesn't even work.

How about Silent Hill? How long did that movie stick with the games original theme? About 5 minutes and then in my opinion, it turned into complete ****.

So I can't really imagine a halo TV show doing well, as ratings on a tv show are much more important to a network than the importance of how well a movie does at a theater. If the ratings don't stay consistently high, the show will be dropped like a hot
potato. I know that as a gamer, sitting down and watching a halo tv series, sounds painful to me unless there is a great writer and they can somehow take the Halo story and fashion it into a masterpiece that people can't wait to see each week. I can't help
but to doubt it.

 

"Foward into dawn" is good.Made with a low budget,nice actors/characters and a cool ,interesting story.

If they do the same with Halo TV ,it might be good,too.
