IGN reports Halo TV series to be broadcast on Showtime

First let me apologise for not being able to link the youtube video my phone hates me.

The claim in the video is that the Halo TV series will not be broadcast on the XB1 as the exclusive that Microsoft promised. But instead will now be a Showtime exclusive which means views will be required to add the channel to their cable service if they
want to watch the show. If this is true it is sad I was personally very much looking forward to being able to watch this show exclusivly on my XB1 seeing as it was supposed to be one of the perks of owning the new system. But now it appears I will need to
order a channel for about $30 a month for nothing other than one show.

There is a TV series in production by Showtime. But I haven't read news about it recently.

yea its still happening but due to budgeting and other things its looking like at earliest a 2017 fall launch

 

I saw an IGN article(no video) that said Showtime would air the Halo series before XboxTV woud so essentially you'd still get it.

True but why showtime first? From everything said by MS in the past I thought the show to be a XB1 exclusive or at least we would get the first airing of the program.

 

I guess you are new to the showbiz/tv/movie world of entertainment. Tv shows cost millions to produce. MS went into the Halo series with 0 invested into television, so a deal like this will help recoup production costs as well as bring the show to an audience
that wouldn't purchase a [tag:XboxOne] under normal circumstances. Open your mind, yound jedi!

 

I wonder how long the delay will be between airing on Showtime then Xbox, but either way, feels like a kick to the pants.

 

At least it will be available to Xbox One users. Better late than never, well not too late I hope

 

also looks like the showtime version will be a dumbed down one as the XB version will be interactive...

The deal with Showtime has taken a long time to work out because the sides are charting new territory for a show designed to air on Showtime as well as Xbox, with enhanced interactivity built in for the latter platform

 

I have to agree if we don't get it on x1 at least at the same time its kinda bs.

 

Microsoft is wasting there money on this stuff it's never going to take off and I bet all of there TV shows will slowly be canceled. Why are they tring to make TV shows? Where are they going with this when Netflix and Amazon all ready got a lock on it.
Just make GAMES.

I honestly don't know anything about it PSTV? it's the same as this can you post a link I would like to understand it.

But if it is the same thing I absolutly feel the same way.

 

Microsoft already spent over a billion for games,they can spend a few millions for some TV shows....

Just hope Halo TV series will be a good and interesting show....

 

I read through a portion of your article Bstn and quit when it said the Xbox Division is a drag on MS profits.
