IGN calls "Another World" a bad game

Lei Fang, I do enjoy it and I do play it (still trying to beat it, in fact). I care about what others think in this case because they are omitting information that is damaging to this game's release on Xbox consoles in order to serve their own agenda - they're
effectively lying, which can be bad for business for both the game's developers and IGN both.

i thought it was pretty pants in 1991 and still think so today, but that is just my opinion of course

 

@GG....I think you are taking this a bit too far. IGN's review isn't damaging anything. It's his opinion. People can take away from it what they want.

You are acting as if IGN is the "go-to" source for finding out what games are available on the platforms. I highly doubt that is the case.

What makes his opinion more right(or wrong) than yours or anyone else? Not a thing. You like it great, but it sure isn't the second coming by a long shot.

 

Good games will last long.....But reviews,games magazines/websites are already forgotten.

IGN won't be here,to review Another World 40th anniversary edition.

 

Normally, I'd agree with you mgzin and Tzar, but IGN is the largest video game and media-related website online - that means their reach is vast and if their lies are allowed to spread it can actually hurt business...

 

IGN isn't Fox news either....

IGN and others game medias,are just giving their opinions.....And they can misinforms theirs suscribers/followers...

But,i don't know for others,but never made my choices (or the way i should think) based on someone opinion.

And as i said,IGN (others too),won't last long....They needs us,we don't need them.

 

I have fond memories of this game from back in the day playing it on the Amiga500, I have not played the redo so can't comment directly about it. Though a mate is playing it atm and says its pretty good though he is stuck.

I would like to hope it would still be fun though, I remember a 'maaaahtooombah' and a guy in a cage, but vague memories. I have played a few games because of the 'rose tinted glasses' and wish I had left them a memory but others were well done. As ever
with games its an each to their own.

As far as game reviews go though I generally never even look at them, if I like the look of a game it's 'on the list' regardless.

If I actually listened to the game reviews from IGN (or whatever), I would have missed out on discovering a lot of games that are on my "favorites games list" because they (IGN or whatever) have deemed these games to be lame.

I understand what you mean by how IGN (or whatever) reviews can affect the sales of game(s), but at the end of the day the most important thing is that "you" (the person playing the game) is happy.

Would someone play a game that they hate & at the end of the day say... "I made everyone else happy by playing this game".

If someone is doing this(playing games that you hate to please everyone else), why are you doing it? Play the games that "you" like to play

Just because a game is old doesn't mean it can't be fun; it also doesn't mean it gets a great review because of the nostalgia factor.
