If you have a game disk, insert it now...

I have several games on disk that have been loaded onto the hard drive however, two games (Forza 5 and COD Advanced Warfare) will not load/play from the hard drive.

Whenever I try to play these games, I get the following message: "If you have a game disk, please insert it now". So, the only way I can play these two games (while signed in), is to actually insert the game disks.

I'm not sure why some games will play without the disk and these other two games require the disk to be installed.

Any thoughts?

Borderlands Bundle Pack not Working

I bought the Borderlands Handsome Collection and now both games don't seem to work. It is installed via without disk so the "if you have a game disk, insert it now" notification shouldn't apply. It's really annoying me.

 

I Can't Play Garden Warfare and it's Missing

Same here, all of a sudden I'm getting the same insert disk error. Error: Please try again. Sorry, we couldn't start PVZ Garden Warfare. If you have a disk, insert it now. (0x87de2712). It's digital I don't need a disk. Also, the game doesn't show up in
the store any longer either.

 

Well digital purchases allow you to play without the disc, there shouldn't be any disc based games that let you play without inserting the disc first or you could pretty much install the game an infinite amount of times across many consoles.

No game will play directly from the disc on the Xbox One and I believe this is to increase overall performance as well as take pressure off the disc drive and hopefully save some of those repair requests.

 

I know the problem is related to "rights", I just don't know how to fix it.

All of my games are disk based so, you would assume if there is a problem with one disk based game, you would have the problem with all of the disk based games.

Four (out of the six) disk based games will play without having to continually install the disk.

 

It isn't the 2 games that won't play without inserting the disc that are the issue, as that is the expected behavior. The four games that do play without discs are the problem, as that shouldn't happen.

You're sure you don't have digital downloads of those 4 titles? Out of curiosity what are the non-working titles?

 

Are the games on an external drive? If so, try unplugging it then back in...

 

Jayadub is correct you shouldn't be able to play disc based games without inserting the disc at all.

What games are they letting you play without a disc... Could be 1 or 2 things... You have EA access and are playing EA games.. therefore EA access gave you digital rights so you no longer need the disc...

or

You are home gold sharing with someone who owns the game digitally... therefore giving you digital rights

 

Hmm.. I thought that once you load a X1 disc you could play without it actually being in the optical drive for a period of upwards of 24 hours or so?

If that isn't the case then someone was out there around launch day telling tall tales!

Games that play without having the disk installed: Ryse, Titan Fall, BF4 and Sniper Elite 3.

I thought the whole idea behind the 500Gb hard drive is that you could load your games on the machine and not have to deal with the hassle of having to insert the disk to play the game.

From the posts above, it appears there was a policy change that requires the disk to be loaded into the machine to actually play the game. If this is the case then, I would assume I don't need to load the game into the hard drive to play it just, load it
into the disk player?

 

Since we're having a discussion about inserting game discs, I have a question: With the new BC Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One, do you only have to put the disc in once and install it or every time you want to play the game? I ask because I'm still uncertain,
as I don't have any of the physical versions of the 21 games available now to try it for myself.
