If you don't like the Kinect, then don't buy an X1...

No, you're not telling the truth. NPD numbers say that your one store isn't representative. Sony has sold more PS4s, and now that CHristmas is over, for January, Sony has sold almost twice as many PS4s as xbox 1's.

Secondly, you obviously don't understand retail if you think they leave open slots for stuff they aren't planning on selling cause it's not selling (if they aren't ordering it cause it's not selling, they're going to take that space away from it and use
it for something else). They would remove the spot from the shelf and use it to display something else. 1. They want that space for something that sells. 2. It makes a store look bad if it looks like it has a lot of empty space. Makes people less likely to
buy.

I wanted a Ps4 but couldnt find any in stock nor wanted to deal with craigslist so I got a X1, I'll get a Ps4 sometime, Kinect is worthless btw, used it for an hour and d/c'd. MS really hurt the xbox brand with X1. Although both consoles will have 95% of
the same games anyways so I'm not sweating it

Calm down SpartanOstrich3, the X1 and Ps4 are created to make their companies profit, they are just locked down pcs in plastic boxes, fanboyism is dumb unless your a MS shareholder

 

Well, I can see why some one would want whichever console they chose (if they don't have the money for both) to do better as it means more chances the games will come to it (and less chances games will be exclusive to the other side). So there is some reason
for the rivalry (especially if one feels that some console has to fail for the other to do well, which isn't necessarily true. Though it may mean one console gets the better 3rd party versions).

That being said, from the data so far, I don't really think xbox fans have anything to worry about, yet anyways (way too early to tell and it's not like xbox has been selling like wii u ). It's still successful enough and really that's all you really
have to worry about when you want games for the console of your choice.

Gotta feel sorry for Nintendo lovers who do enjoy the Wii U though. Sux when the console you like is failing hard <- I have a vita which is doing even worse than the Wii U and is in a market that pretty much is being killed by mobile (ewww, f2p!), I know
the feeling . Though I do think it appears PS will be dominant this time.

Well the sales of both consoles speak for itself with the Ps4 selling twice as many X1's in January in the US. This could change though if a Kinect-free version were to be released. I hope it happens.

I also hope that they release it without the kinect. Though even if they did next week, I would not buy one yet. I still am going to hold out for hopefully a larger HD version and another couple releases of dashboard updates. Loving the 360 still

Personally I'd like to see a forum without kinect threads. Now that would be a treat. About as much chance of that as a kinect less bundle. Not going to happen. Not when they've invested so much time and money into it.

That's not how retail works, at all. You didn't stop ordering PS4's, you just can't keep them in stock. They wouldn't leave a valuable blank space there for something they stopped ordering. If MS is providing 10-20x more as you claim then common sense says
they'd be selling more consoles than Sony. They're not. The only on that needs to check their "facts" is you. Unless you think Sony owns the entire web.

Some retail store worker is reputable....but the site isn't.

I think some of you are living in denial. Last I heard the PS4 was beating the X1 in sales by like a million and a half or something.

If you NEED some good news...and since, contrary to popular belief, I'm not a Sony fanboy....the X1 is selling in less territories and is still selling well enough to claim victory in their goals.

It's time for MS to knock one out of the park. They invested the time, the money, and the tech for kinect, and made us pay an extra $100. to own it.

The new Kinect is useless at best. I rarely ever use it. However I did buy an XBox One for the simple fact I liked the exclusives. They really do need to ditch the Kinect and sell it separate though. Its currently the systems biggest downfall. Its seriously
nearly as useless as ROB the Robot from the original NES set. A shame too since I like the first Kinect since it had a lot of great games for it. Meh, at least the new Kinect Sports is coming soon.

Did Kinect really fail? When my mic broke it kept me in touch with my E friends.

Is it really worth 100? As a back up mic + a way to meet face to face on the system itself with the gamers you hang out with on regular basis. Or "if your more social all the random gamers we meet too"

I would gladly pay 100 bucks for that. And apparently a few million others felt the same. Sorry you didn't.
