If you could retire 4 gaming consoles to the "gaming hall of fame"...

What 4 would you choose? You can only retire 4 and why would you choose those?



1. No brainer would be the N64, it broke ground imo and the last of cartridges. I do miss gaming cartridges for what it was worth..lol the only way you could break those was pretty much by trying to.

2. Playstation one. I never PC gamed so it was new to me playing games on disc and "loading" times

I personally feel like these two systems are what started console wars.

3. Xbox because it was an american made console and first by microsoft...it felt good knowing that americans can hold our own when it comes to gaming as well(yes I know where the parts are made)

4. Original Nintendo had the most life out of any system, people still to this day are trying to find certain games for this.



( I wonder how many people are going to jump to Atari?)

1. Orignal Nintendo. Even though it wasn't the first home game console, it's really the one that started it all after the fallout of Atari.

2. Atari 2600. Again, there were others before it, but the 2600 really started it all and made it affordable.

3. N64. Starfox and Goldeneye. Nuff said

4. Xbox 360. It built upon what the first Xbox had and just ran away from everything we ever knew. It is what made COD what it is today with Xbox Live being a revolution in multiplayer gaming.

 

1. Super Nintendo - Super Mario RPG, Earthbound, Secret of Mana

2. Nintendo 64

3. Atari 2600

4. Xbox

 

I never got to play on the older consoles so I can't really judge them so here's my list...

1. Nintendo Game Boy Advanced (My 1st gaming device/my childhood)

2. Xbox 360 (Best gaming machine I have)

3. PS2 (Fond memories)

4. N/A (No idea what to put here)

1: Xbox 360 (I just love it. Have had so much fun on it so far)

2: N64 (well, this really goes without saying. Mario 64, Zelda OoT ect..)

3: Dreamcast (yup, it flopped but it got less love than it deserved, shemnue....)

4: Playstation 1 (I would never of met Cloud Strife without it lol)

 

Atari 2600.

Because it is the first gaming console I owned, and as such is directly responsible for my ongoing love of gaming. I don't play PacMan anymore though .

SNES.

At the time it had the best ports from Arcade titles. Arcades being the places we used to go to game . Mariokart KI and SSF2 being the most fun and they hold the best memories.

Amiga-500.

(I know its not a console). But its a no brainer in my top 4 thanks to a little game called Elite.

Finally this one is going into the top 4, not for being the best but for being the worst. And easily the most wasted £200 in my history of gaming.

The Atari Jaguar.

I mean the box even had a declaration on saying you could not sue Atari if no more games were released , that should of set some alarm bells a' ringing.

The console was dire (supposed to be the 1st 32bit system if I recall correctly). The pad had like 20 buttons on in and well the console itself was tosh and its only redeeming quality was AvP, it wasn't enough.

Mine set on fire anyway lol.

 

1. Intellivision can be considered the first 16-bit game console, also first to have games you could download. Plus with MLB and Sea Battle it was a awesome system.

2. Atari 2600 The list of games was very big, also gave you the ability to play such games a Pac Man and Donkey Kong without having to go to a mall or arcade. (yes, I'm old)

3. Commodore 64 computer system. Plenty of cool games and really one of the first home computers a family could afford.

4. Playstation 1 That system set the bar for the current generation of gaming. Sony really came through to help make gaming what it is today.

Here are the reasons that I listed the following consoles for my Hall Of Fame...

(1) Xbox 360 --> This is the perfect console for me. Its innovation was creating the perfect wireless controller and the ability to play our own music whenever we wanted to. This is my all time favorite console ever.

(2) Original Xbox --> PC power without all of the technical mumbo jumbo. Its innovation was including a Hard Disk Drive with every console and for the first time, we were able to play our own music in our games (for the ones that supported it).

(3) Original Playstation One --> Ushered the world into the next generation by moving into 3D. Up until this point, most games were limited to 2D only. The exception to this is "Star Fox" for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.

(4) Super Nintendo Entertainment System --> Introduced the "shoulder buttons" to the control pad layout. Its greatest innovation was having the first 32 Megabyte game, and that game is (insert drum roll here please)... Super Metroid
