If you are new to Microsoft and its store or the games, be careful!

Hello fellow users,

my girlfriend and I got stuck in a really uncomfortable situation concerning a purchase in the Microsoft Store and I would like to let you know about this.

We bought State of Decay 2 to enjoy the fun as we were part of the hype around the game. Unfortunately, we could
not manage to get our connections to the Microsoft servers or to any kind of multiplayer lobby working as intended. After trying out many different options such as forwarding ports in our router or switching off the internal Teredo filter within
our router, which was necessary to be done in order to get the NAT-type to function correctly, we ended up having no option to play in multiplayer. Neither can we refund the game because it took us too long to test every single solution we had even after the
NAT problem was solved. We also worked with the support and the kind help of other users and still ended up with this.

It sure is unfortunate and of course we are mad, but also we know about the policies and everything. Since this situation seems helpless, we would like to inform others about possible issues like these. We could not know that this would happen to us, so at
least we would like others to be informed. This may be adressed to those who are still thinking about a purchase of anything in general: Check everything with the help of your Xbox Live app if possible, and make sure to get this to work before you end up in
the same disaster.

The models of our routers would not cooperate with the Teredo protocol type that is used by the Microsoft servers, severe ports are closed right from the start and apparently it does not even work, if these settings are set.

We don't want to start any trouble for Microsoft! We know about our situation and also about the missing solutions to this, but we accept this as it occurs.
This should just be a safety guide for others who might be unaware of certain coincidences!

I am thankful for the advices I got and also for the kindness and the patience I received! Now the hope rests in being more careful and researching even more before anything like this might happen ever again! We learned our lesson!

Project Scorpio

I think that moving forward Project Scorpio was a brave move by Phil Spencer announcing this at E3!

When announced they stated that no gamer would be left behind, with any gamer owning a current Xbox One

not being short changed.

Xbox would not shoot themselves in the foot regarding releasing information on a brand new console and not forgetting its existing franchise and thousand of current subscribers to its Xbox live network.

Adapting the software on its current console and using the Play Anywhere software Xbox will be on to a winner as they where first to allow you to stream to your PC from your Xbox.

However, PlayStation have announced that they are attempting to catch up Microsoft with an app to be utilised on current PC 'S & Macs

Scorpio is the future and will eventually take some existing gamers from both PC and PSN with some XBOX ONE owners upgrading straight away... Microsoft & Phil Spencer have to be careful Steam is becoming very popular and MICROSOFT store needs
to be stripped down and started again!

Currently the games sold on its service for no overheads and no physical disc and no ground rents to pay like Game stop in the USA and Game in the UK are WAY TOO EXPENSIVE... I saw that Microsoft had an exclusive sale from some of its third
party and original soft ware titles but your not going to move forward by charging way too much for a game that you can get from a store, another console /PC or service a lot cheaper whether by buying and in some instances trading in a game.

Also Indie titles on the store really need to be promoted more... unless it has been mentioned on Larry Hyrb's (Major Nelson) Podcast or is a game that has already been around on other formats you hardly see the games that are independently published
on the Xbox / Microsoft store.

Digital or Physical

When ordering from a retailer like Amazon, it will usually say " buy download" or "digital code". Make sure you don't order from a shady site, though. You can be scammed if you aren't careful. If I were you, I'd order directly on your Xbox from the Microsoft
Store. That way you know you are buying a legitimate digital copy.
