If the Xbox One turns off my TV it won't turn it back on

When I have the settings to turn off my TV (Vizio E371VA) and to also turn it on, The TV will only partially turn on, in that the screen is lit but it is a black screen. It doesn't display a no connection message or anything. My cable box and sound bar work
fine, however.

I tried to using a different HDMI cable, hard reset, re-setting the TV settings, and even a factory restore.

One other minor issue is that my sound bar (Vizio SB4021E-B0) is not a choice but model SB4020MA0 does work.

XBOX One - Post Feb Update - TV power commands different and not working for me.

My TV is a SAMSUNG - LE46C750

Prior to the Feb update, my XBOX ONE turned my TV on and off when I said 'XBOX ON' and 'XBOX TURN OFF' perfectly. The remote code was a toggle because if the TV was already on, then it would switch off, which I would expect.

Since the update the behaviour has changed for the worse (but potentially for the better).

The XBOX no longer sends the ON command to the TV when I say 'XBOX ON'. This is a PITA as I have to grab the remote and turn the TV on manually. However it does switch the TV OFF when I say 'XBOX TURN OFF'.

Here's where it gets interesting though...

Scenario A. XBOX ONE is ON. TV is ON. I say 'XBOX TURN OFF'. XBOX ONE and TV turn OFF.

Scenario B. XBOX ONE is ON. TV is OFF. I say 'XBOX TURN OFF'. XBOX ONE turns OFF. TV stays OFF!

Previously, due to the toggle, scenario B would have switched the TV back ON. I'm no expert but in my mind this could happen for two reasons...

Reason A. The XBOX is still sending a toggle but is not sending it in scenario B. Therefore it must know from the HDMI cable that the TV is already OFF. This is new since the update.

Reason B. The XBOX is no longer sending a toggle but an actual ON or OFF remote command. In my case the remote ON command must be incorrect as my TV won't turn on in any circumstance.

I have checked all my settings and tried switching back to ECO power mode then back to FAST ON mode, but it didn't change anything.

Can anyone help me fix this problem so that XBOX switches my TV ON again?

I turn off my console, the green light flashes, I turn off my tv, console turns back on.

When I am done playing a game I will turn off my Xbox 360 Slim and the tv. The green light on the power button will flash and then it turns my Xbox 360 Slim back on. If I let the light flash for a bit until it stops and then turn off my tv the console won't
turn back on. Sometimes I have to let it flash onces and it's done or sometimes I have to wait and let it flash 5 times. Any ideas how to stop this? It's kind of irritating that my console turns itself back on lol.

 

Same problem with TV, and same model. TV turns on to black screen and does not display the 'Vizio' logo. Have to turn it on, then off with tv remote to see a picture.

This began with the March update, as it worked perfectly from launch day until now.

 

I discovered this on my own several weeks ago, but I just wanted to come back to make sure people know that the solution is as XB1R Hermes posted.

Check your tv manual for alternative remote codes, and keep trying them until one works (Not sure if 1758 is the code that ended up working for me).

Thanks guys. We're also working on a fix for this so you won't have to try an alternative codeset in the future. The fix should be in the June update.
