I've done the reset with keep games, they called it a soft reset. The first time I did I only checked the one game I had major issues on (Skyrim) and in the morning when my kids got on Minecraft they noticed all my worlds were gone. I tried another soft reset/reset and keep games and it brought most of the worlds back but deleted the most recent worlds from the last few days prior. That's why I'm asking if there's another way. Or do I just have to run the risk of losing things? Xbox is wired in with an Ethernet cord if that matters...

Sorry for the trouble but I have here steps that we can try, please perform a power cycle on your console by following the steps below:

POWERCYCLE CONSOLE​​​

"1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off. ​​​

2. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller. ​​"

If that didn't work resetting the console keeping games and apps will be the next option. Don't worry because as long as you're connected to Xbox Live your saved progress, games, will not be deleted. It will remove all of your accounts but you can add all of them later on.

Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info.

Select Reset console.

I had similar issue. Resetting with the option to keep my games did the trick.

I’ve done every troubleshooting method there is, including multiple factory resets. I have plenty of space on my internal hard. It even crashed when I moved it to my external hard which also has plenty of space.

When i get an issue like this, i uninstall then attempt to install again. Usually fixes the problem. Also make sure you have plenty of hard drive space and your internet speed is ok.
