    Well liked how on Xbox one I could turn tv Of on and receiver off on control volume etc. Now we have to hope the TVs cec and receivers cec communicate with Xbox’s cec. After hours of playing around got Xbox to turn on receiver but not the tcl 65 series 5 . Totally annoying . Anyone have any ideas on how to fix it ?

    **** fixed update , I had to enable all settings in tcl tv system section control other devices (CEC) section originally had just arc hdmi 3 selected ****

    Blows my mind that the Xbox one S doesn't support CEC when PS3 did. Makes no sense.

    ARC is Audio Return Channel. It allows a TV's audio to be sent back to the attached receiver via the HDMI Out of the receiver instead of having to run a separate audio line from the TV to the receiver. It's intended for use when using a TV's internal tuner
    via an attached antenna or cable source.



    HDMI CEC is what allows your TV's remote to control other components without actually programming the remote with the code for the other devices.



    HDMI CEC pre-dates ARC by several revisions. Unfortunately, few things take advantage of it.

    Hello again, yes you're right, for some reason there's some conflict in the system and it hasn't been fixed yet, it seems.

    Yes, the problem happens both in stereo and in 5.1, what I understand is that somehow the xbox causes a conflict in the hdmi arc, because even using another input of the tv it still has no audio until the xbox is disconnected.
