If I were to give a gift to the person I’m game sharing with, do i get the game as well?

I’m thinking of getting the Forsaken DLC for Destiny 2 but I’m not sure if the person I’m game sharing with is buying it. I got the idea of sending it to them as a gift so I would get it as well. I’m just wondering if I would get the DLC.

If you gift the game then you're given a code to redeem on the account you want to redeem it on. If you're game sharing with your brother then he would be able to access the game.

 

Sharing Xbox love

my boyfriend and I have been sharing an Xbox, were both signed in, and only one person has had to buy Xbox live because of it. I’m buying a new Xbox tomorrow, will we be able to still do that? Like, if we both put our accounts on the new one, will I still
be able to use his xbox live and play games with him online now? Or will I have to go ahead and buy my own xbox live?

Sharing is not working for all DLC so the best way to know if Forsaken will work or not its to contact bungie on their own website.

If you are gamesharing with that person and their console is the “home” console, then you just need to buy it for yourself.

If you buy it on your console, “not the home console” it will also work on the “home” console as long as you designated it as the home console. That’s how it should work and it’s how it works for me.

 

Keep in mind that unless you are sharing with a family member in your household you violating the terms of your digital purchase which could result in an account ban which would include the loss of ALL digital content that account has purchased. Digital
games are not allowed to be shared with friends for example...

 

Please be aware, sharing account information and sharing accounts, abusing the my home xbox feature, could end up in account and device bans from xbox live. This feature is for use on one console within a family and giving your account to someone else, accessing

If the person buys it on your account you will have it. If they buy it on their account you can't use it. You should not be sharing accounts like this as it can and could get your accounts banned and all your purchases lost.

 

It may work on your Xbox, but be in mind that is not all DLC that works with game sharing.

Be carefuly, some DLC doesn't work with game sharing.
