    I have my XBOX console set to Energy Save mode because I've been worried that when I have it on Instant Mode, my power brick keeps making dog barking sounds while I am sleeping. Sometimes I fear that when it gets too overheated, it might shut off dead someday. No matter how many times I plug it off and plug it back, it still makes no difference. So I set it to Energy Mode but I have the automatic updates for the console checked. So the question is if it turns off on Energy Mode and I have auto updates turned on, will it update my console and game saves to the Live Cloud while the brick light is Orange?

    Hi, if you have instant on mode set in the power options the fan will indeed keep spinning, try changing to energy saving mode.

    There are some drawbacks with energy saving mode though such as the Xbox will not auto update etc.

    threre s a lot people having this problem i haven t this problem yet on my xbox one console but i will keep close eye on my xbox one. if your xbox one is on instant on mode try to put your xbox one on energy saving mode. the reason why i havent

    When will we be getting a way to limit the download speed the Xbox One uses?

    xbox one is constantly updating your friends and feeds and so on , but it should not be doing it in energy-saving mode , it should be ALL the way off , that's why it takes so long to boot up in that mode...maybe yours isn't in that mode or it isn't working
    properly...

    Energy-saving power mode

    In energy-saving power mode, your console is shut down to save energy. In this mode:

    •Updates are not downloaded and installed until your console is turned on.

    •Your console takes 45 seconds to start up.

    •You must press the Xbox button to start the console.

    Notes

    •In energy-saving mode, the PSU is in off/standby mode and the solid orange LED on the PSU is bright.

    •The console uses 0.5 watts of power when in energy-saving mode.

    so if the psu is off , I don't see how it could use the internet...

    Just plugged in my old Xbox one, as I read up on the energy-saving mode issue.

    Set my console to energy-saving mode. Reset it. Booted it up, had an Open NAT for the first time since launch day. However, I still got disconnected from Xbox Live, whilst playing an online game (CoD Ghosts). So my issue remains.
