If I connect my Xbox slim to my computer would I be able to use my controller with my PC

Okay so I was thinking about getting the receiver but i'm trying to get a solution to this tomorrow. Would anyone think this would work?

So I understand that a wireless controller forceful needs a receiver to work unless it's wired but I don't have any of those. So is there a way to use the Xbox slim as a receiver?

can i use a phone with bluetooth connected to my PC or Console & be able to connect & use my wireless Xbox 360 controller on my PC

 

Does the newer controller (with Bluetooth support) still be able to use the wireless receiver?

I'm planning on buying an XBox controller for my PC.

Now, my PC does have bluetooth, but just in case I would like to play in a computer that does not have bluetooth, does the newer controller (with Bluetooth support) still be able to use the wireless receiver to connect?

To summarize, what I want to know is:

Does the new controller support all kind of connection to a computer, be it Bluetooth, wireless (using a receiver), and cable?

Another related question is; if the newer controller uses bluetooth, how does it pair with a wireless receiver?

 

no you need the receiver that has a USB cable on the end that plugs into the PC's usb port that has a sync button like on the 360 console and on the wireless controller. no other way works as far as making a wireless controller work on a PC sorry.

 

dave is correct that you cannot just use any old xbox controller; you need the receiver, even for a wired controller. You can purchase the Xbox 360 Controller for Windows at numerous electronic retailers, such as Best Buy.

 

actually if you have a wired controller you do not need the receiver as it has the built in wire with the USB plug on the end. the receiver is only needed if you are using a wireless controller on a PC.

 

As davemcfly85 stated, you don't need a receiver for a wired controller, and will work on computers with Windows XP and up. There may be drivers for Win98/2k, but I don't know as I don't use those operating systems anymore.
